You need someone to explain that graphic stereotypes, coupled with implied racial stupidity, is "insensitive"?

Nope. I got the insensitive part. I was curious about the mechanics of the joke. Is it just that he can't figure out how to light a fire? And does this relate somehow to the Braves of the time?

It's that he's too stupid to know to use the matches/lighter/blowtorch right in front of him. And it relates to the stereotype of Native Americans being ignorant of modern life and "wowed" by shiny baubles, to the point that they are easily defeated by the more enlightened.

There was Dirk West, but I think his cartoons were mostly just in the Lubbock area.
