Astroa lineup change. Fowler scratched. Hoes goes to left, Presley center
Back stiffness for Fowler has him scratched

Got it. Thanks!

I'm watching the Tigers pre-game. The whole show has been about J.D. Martinez, third base coach Dave Clark and manager Brad Ausmus. It's been great.
-
Altuve singles and promptly steals 2B. Springer Ks.
-
Altuve
steals 3Badvances to 3B on a wild pitch, and he scores on a throwing error by Alex Avila. The Detroit announcers just called Altuve a pest. He's the Piranha.
-
Altuve is a one man scoring machine.
-
I started Verlander.
-
I started Verlander.
So did my opponent in another league. So what we have here is a perfect cat-with-buttered-toast-strapped-to-its-back experiment.
-
J.D. Martinez leads off the second with a 1B. Payback begins.
-
I started Verlander.
You are The Man.
-
Astros get a couple of base runners but can't convert. 1-1 Top 3

I wonder what they call their # 9 hitter, fang?

I started him too.
-
There must be a few Detroit fans in attendance.
-
Hoes is way better in left field than Grossman, but still not good enough to steal shots which land in the Crawford boxes.
-
It's hard to believe that no-hit catcher the Astros had a few years back is now manager of Detroit.
-
Altuve steals home from 3rd on a pick-off throw to 1st. Astros 3-2. 2 outs. 5th inning.
-
Peacock with a 3 up 3 down 6th inning. Astros 3-2.
-
Castro - Smoked a line drive to 1B
Guzman - K swinging
Presley - Grounds out to 2nd
End of the 6th. Astros 3-2.
-

Really? I wish he was managing the Astros.

Really? I wish he was managing the Astros. \
Me too. Just a little humor.
-
Not really a news flash, but it's much harder to pitch to the Tigers than the Astros. If Peacock misses his location with a fastball, there is a good chance it will get damaged. Verlander, on the other hand has probably throw more than ten fastballs down the heart that, sans Altuve, rarely get touched.
-
Peacock was replaced by Downs for some reason.
-
I guess Peacock was on a pitch count after his illness. Great job tonight. That's a tough lineup to navigate through.
-
Castellanos - Flies out to RF
Jackson -Flies out to 2nd
Avila - (Downs in to pitch) Grounds out to SS
Middle of the 7th - Astros 3-2.
-
Chad Smith in to pitch for Tigers.
-
Me too. Just a little humor.
Sorry I didn't pick up on that.
-
They just showed Terry Puhl eating peanuts in the stadium.

He could probably hit over .250 tomorrow for an extended period of time. There is no one in the Astros lineup tonight hitting over .250 except Alutve. Springer is next at .243. How they win over .200% is pretty astounding.
-

I would love it if they put him in.
-
McCoy in to pitch for Detroit.
-
Hoes - Grounds out to SS
Villar - Grounds out to 2nd
Altuve - Infield single
Springer - BB
Singleton - (McCoy in to pitch) Flies out to SS
End of the 7th. Astros 3-2.
-
Veras in for the Astros.
-
Suarez scores from 2nd on short throw by Villar. Cabrera to 1st. Tied 3-3. 2 outs.
-
T8:
Suarez walks after extended at bat on error by Singleton.
With 2 out, error by Villar let's Suarez score, tied up now 3-3.
-
The worst thing about that was that Ashby was livid about Veras being left in to Cabrera and Veras almost got out of it.
-
Suarez - BB
Kinsler - Flies out to 1st
Hunter - Grounds out to 3rd, Suarez to 2nd
Cabrera - Villar with bad throw to Singleton, Suarez scores, Cabrera to 1st.
V. Martinez - Grounds out to SS
Middle of the 8th. Tied 3-3.
-
Porter is a patient man. No expletives or real demonstration of disgust witnessing that shitshow.
-

Hard to pitch around two errors.
-
Joba Chamberlain in to pitch for Le Tigres.
-
Dominguez - K swinging
Castro - BB
Guzman - 5-4-3 DP
Bottom of the 8th. Tied 3-3.
-
B8:
Dominguez strikes out
Castro walks
Guzman grounds into 5-4-3 double play.
To the 9th...still knotted at 3.
-
T9:
Qualls in for the Astros...
Martinez flies out F8
Castellanos strikes out swinging
Jackson grounds out 4-3
Come on boys, let's win it in the 9th
-
B9:
Albuquerque in for the Tigers...
Presley grounds out 4-3
Hoes grounds out 5-3
Villar strikes out
Free baseball.
-
Have the Astros had a game this year where they had only single digits in strikeouts?
-
Sipp in to pitch the 10th...
Avila flies out F9
Suarez strikes out
Kinsler singles
Hunter lines out to LF, inning over.
-
Bleh.
-
B10:
Hardy in for the Tigs...
Altuve leads off with his 4th hit of the night, single
Springer strikes out for the third time...again.
Singleton grounds into 3U-6 double play. Inning over.
-
Probably a double without him holding on Altuve.
-
T11:
Buchanan in to pitch...
Cabrera lines out to LF
V. Martinez grounds out 6-3
JD Martinez grounds out 5-3
-
Gave up a loud out to Cabrera, but Buchanan made quick work of the others. Nice inning. Get a freaking run.
-
B11:
Hardy on the hill...
Castro!!!!!
Wins it with a walk off homer!!!!
4-3 Astros!
-
Absolute sweetness. Very nice win.
-
Sweet, and now I can concentrate on the footy.
-

Team ERA is now 4.06. The Tigers is 4.03.

35 wins at the half way mark. Hard to believe.

Need I remind you which brilliant baseball genius predicted 70 wins?
