Rubbish. Feldman pitched well enough to win, and we got 12 other hits last night. Springer didn't drive himself in, and he scored five runs.

Well, he drove himself in once.  Springer had a terrific game last night.  Not that others didn't as well, but it was nice to see Springer play like the scouting reports said he could.

Gonzalez got four hits, too.

The Royals' starting pitcher was hurt from the beginning and they had to go to their bullpen early. Ventura was much better the first time the Astros faced him. Hopefully, they will keep the offense going the rest of the series, but I expect the pitching will be better.

I knew that he drove himself in once. My point was that someone else drove him in the other four times.

Well if you're gonna get snippy, technically he scored once on a GIDP, so no one "drove him in" on that one.  Another time he scored without the benefit of a hit.  So he was driven in on a hit by someone else twice and drove himself in once.

Why so down on Springer, when he finally played a great game?

Springer had a great game and is an exceptional talent. Young guys like him is why the Astros are fun to watch this year. But I like Fowler, too.

I'm not down on him. Quite to the contrary. However, Fredia implied that Springer did it by himself, and I simply refuted that by smashing it to bits.

Kind of like how Springer smashed the baseball last night?

The last seven days Springer's hitting .500 with 2 doubles and 5 HR, for an OPS of 2.118.  I'd say he's doing more than his part.

In a manner of speaking, yes.

He needs to drive himself in more before we can start appreciating his play.

He probably drives to MMPUS most days.  If he were Hunter Pence, he could skate himself in on his scooter.

I'm having a hard time understanding how the Giants FO lets that goon go zipping around town helmetless on a scooter.

I thought about that too. However, the Giants probably like the notoriety and novelty of Pence, so they permit it.

There are worse things he could be doing, like trying to wash a truck.

Or getting lost late at night driving in Arizona.

Walking through a sliding glass door

I don't think Hunter gets enough credit for his responsibility with regard to that incident.  If he was just planning to pull out, he never would have gotten hurt.

If my counting is accurate, Springer has 2 Ks in his last 28 PAs.

Springer highlight reel (http://m.mlb.com/video/v33253059/springer-is-impacting-the-league-with-his-bat-glove/?partnerId=as_mlb_20140529_24907466).

Turns out he is not a red head.
