I'll be there for the Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon games (haven't gotten my tix for Sat., but am sitting on the second row behind the Astros dugout for the Sunday game...). Go 'Stros!
-
. . . haven't gotten my tix for Sat . . .
I'm stunned that for Stros-Mariners you think you can wait this late and get tickets. I guess you'll pay a healthy premium through a scalper.
-
A real fan would have had tickets already.

I think even the scalpers aren't willing to part with their tickets for this matchup...
Seriously though, I have my eyes on a set of tickets at Stubhub - if dude gets real (it is, after all, SEA vs. HOU - not exactly a game one should expect to get face value for their tix, much less a premium proce for them), then I'll pick grab 'em... Otherwise, you can get good scalped seats at Safeco (re-sale rules are somewhat lax), so we'll just pick them up at the game if it comes to it...

Altuve just hit the first pitch of the game over the LF fence. Astros 1-0.

Crap, one minute late signing in and I miss it...
-
I thought it was a replay of a previous game.
-
Take that, you octopus-slimed tentacle suckers.
-
Jones scores from third on pop-up to center. Game Tied 1-1.
-
I can't tell, but Cosart seems to be struggling already. Maybe it's just Cano.

He is having trouble throwing his fastball near the strike zone.
-
Hoes made a nice catch to get him out of the inning though.

A lot of movement but no control.
-
Alex White's rehab debut at OKC (and 1st game since Sept. 30, 2012) goes perfectly as he retires all 3 batters he faced tonight. Hopefully looking forward to seeing him soon in Astros bully.

He finally ordered meds of OrangeWhoopass.com.

The Administrators getting a cut or what?
-
Cosart finding some control, still 1 - 1 after 2 complete.
-
Sounds like Presley was robbed.
-
Jones scores from third on pop-up to center. Game Tied 1-1.
Was it some kind of Fowler fuck-up?
-
Sounds like Presley was robbed.
I didn't think it was going to get out at any point, I thought he might get lucky and hit the gap, CF covered a bit of ground.
-
Was it some kind of Fowler fuck-up?
It was deep, no fault of Fowler that he scored.
-
Who's the guy in the booth with Ashby tonight?
-
Hmmm. Guzman takes 3 straight fastballs, all basically right over the middle, to go down on 3 pitches. Hmmm.
-
And now Hoes takes strike 3, an absolutely right down the middle FB. The guy's throwing 94-96, I don't think he's just a junkball pitcher, guys.
-
Bases loaded, no outs...and Cosart gets the K for out #1.

and rewarded with a move to the bullpen.

mike stanton

Yep. Gamecast doesn't even have an Astro lid for Sipp yet.
-
2 runs scored and Ashby and Stanton didn't even notice.
-
Astros down 3-1 as they fail to execute. Bases loaded with Sipp on the mound. Ground ball fielded by Guzman and Sipp did not get over to cover in time as two (count 'em, two) runs score. Sparks said it was a routine play that Sipp was a spectator on rather than breaking for the bag. It was a close play and reviewed but batter beat him to the first base bag.

yep then he forgot the bases were loaded and another run crossed the plate.
-
This team isn't getting blown out much lately but still finding ways to lose.

Got by me as well, not sure if I should have seen it?

everyone focused on the play at first, the runners were running with 3-outs and a full count. guy at 2nd never stopped obviously.
-
three up three down, not surprisingly by strike outs by Kastro and Karter. And Dominguez struck out also
-
Fields and his 9.39 era pitching now.
-
Fields' ERA went down with a scoreless inning.
last 3 chances to score some runs. cosart needs to learn to pitch better.

Astros lose

Lame ending to an interesting game.

Huh? How was this game Cosart's fault?

Huh? How was this game Cosart's fault?
Maybe it's just me but I took that as tongue in cheek.
-
Huh? How was this game Cosart's fault?
Clearly Cosart's fault, he put it in the hands of the bullpen.

Huh? How was this game Cosart's fault?
Reuben, you know me not at all. Nate and AA are correct. But technically, it is his fault. He loaded the bases. Now I do think he would have preferred to clear the bases either by getting the necessary outs or giving up the runs himself. But as Mr. Happy pointed out in the recap, Cosart didn't get any help on the night from his hitters.
-
Huh? How was this game Cosart's fault?
This was a team loss. However, the traffic that scored was Cosart's, and he bears that share of the blame. However, outside of Altuve (and Ii still call him the Piranha), the offense was offensively atrocious.
-
the offense was offensively atrocious.
It always is.

It always is.
They had some good games last week. The part of the game I watched last night, they had guys on base with no outs, they just didn't have the batters who could knock them in.
-
It always is.
Wrong. They've had some games where they had more than ten hits, including a stretch of at least three in a row where they had 11 hits each game. However, the hitting w/RISP has been bad all season.
-
With just league average bats in the DH and 1B roles, this team could play like a middle of the pack team. In many ways, it is very encouraging that they aren't that far off, but it is frustrating also that they get absolutely nothing from spots where hitters normally reside.

I agree. I would add corner OF to the lacking areas though. These are the four spots that knock in runs. Or not.

I absolutely agree. That's one of the reasons why I am optimistic about the future.

Strong up the middle.

Gratuitously offensive, right?
