The Oklahoma St. manhandling of Baylor, or Arizona's thumping of Oregon? For me, it is the former. I didn't see anyone on Baylor's schedule being able to hold them to 17 points.

How about the way LSU handled TAM?

You're right. I didn't see this year's LSU defense holding Manziel to 10 points, and, in fact, had a corner not fallen down, it might have been only three points. LSU made a couple of key personnel changes and started two true freshmen at cornerback. Thankfully, LSU's defense finally pllayed like an LSU defense yesterday. I thought that the game was going to be a shootout, but I was wrong.

All three were good reminders of why I don't gamble.
So I guess that Okie State wins the conference if they beat OU on the 7th.
-
The Baylor game really surprised me. I thought it would be very competitive.

Amen. Anyone who gambles on what 18-22 year old kids will do on any given saturday is playing with fire.

Petty slipping six inches short of the goal line changed that entire game.

Crystal Palace beating Hull after having a man sent off.

Okie State's manhandling of Baylor, and UNT's utter failure against UTSA. *facepalm*

Oregon

Florida and that Muschamp hasn't been fired yet.

that didn't surprise me; we're terribly overrated/over ranked.

The defense is terrible. I was at a the Miss St game and remember the guy next to me asking how many stops did I think it would take to out score them. Everyone in aggieland know that this defense is terrible.

So is LSU. LSU shut down a damn good college QB in Manziel, who's one of the better college players I have ever seen.

And holy shit...Nick Saban just graduated from the Gary Kubiak School of Monumental Dick Stepping.

I imagine that he's regretting lobbying for that extra second.

I think Rick Smith has his eye on that Bama kicker in case Bullock doesn't work out for some reason.

I imagine he's regretting not kicking a 30 yard field goal to go up by two scores with 5 minutes left.

A 30-yard field goal doesn't appear to be a sure thing with that team.
I sure hope that Auburn leap-frogs Ohio State in the rankings. Ohio State has played a totally meh schedule, and their defense looks pretty shaky.

But you like your chances with a 57-yarder? Inexcusable.

He was thinking about his move to Austin and trying to ease the transition from Mack.

It's easy to second guess Saban, but I would have kicked the field goal on the 13 and run out the clock at the end of the game and played for overtime.

If you kick the field goal on the 13, there is no overtime. You win the game. No matter how you slice it, Saban stepped on his dick.

I think that the decision to not run out the clock and play for overtime was bad too.

Well I think that was the intention by running the ball with 9 seconds left. But he suddenly found himself at the 40 yard line with one play left, and I guess the temtation was too great. But I agree, the long field goal was not smart.

He must have known that there was a strong likelihood of a return from that distance. Most of the Alabama players on the field were spectators during that play though.

Saw on Twitter this morning that there have been something like 3/4 field goals returned for TD's in the history of D1 football.

Well hell, if it's on Twitter, you can take it to the bank. All coaches should check it before making major game decisions.

something like 9 of 11 were behemoth OL. spectators or not, they had no chance covering a kick.

Didn't one of the announcers say "and there's nothing but fat guys out there to try to tackle him"? That's who your field goal team is...the big slow guys.

Exactly. I don't get it. You have the best team in the country. Take your chances in OT.

That was my point. Saban should have kicked the field goal down at the 13 and simply run out the clock at the end of the game.

My wife is a bama fan and she identified that Saban made a bad decision at the end. Her words - "You have one of the best quarterbacks in college football and you don't let him throw a hail mary? That has as much chance as the field goal attempt."
Saban blew it on that play call but his teams inability to convert 3rd downs did them in. They were 4 for 13 in 3rd down conversions. Stating the obvious here but the three field goal attempts that Cade foster missed came after a failed 3rd down conversion.

This weekend reminded me why I love college football.
