I'm in the lower bowl of the end zone. The Texans bench is to my right and Hopkins caught that TD right in front of me. I'm wearing blue, as are most of the other Texans fans.
Keenum makes throws Schaub simply can't. The Texans secondary is simply awful. Kubiak is in typical idiot form today. He will get badly out coached at halftime.

Well, it's pretty easy to understand their confusion. There are invisible players everywhere you look, so it's got to be hard to figure out which ones to cover. In fact, this probably explains Kareem Jackson's performance most weeks.

The Texans have no time outs (which is another story) yet Reid throws the ball two or three times that last drive. This is the sort of coach that massively outwits Kubiak. Mull on that for a while.

Not to mention the coach that's up by 1, fourth and goal and elects to *not* make it a touchdown game. And yet he's Vince Lombardi, Bill Walsh, Tom Landry, Amos Alonzo Stagg and Knute fucking Rockne combined compared to Kubiak.

On a positive note, Kansas City is a great place to visit for a road game. The Chiefs front office folks were great, the fans were great to us, the stadium is nice for beng of that era. The barbecue was also passable.

The Colts just finished the half with a perfectly competent and purposeful 2-minute drill that went for a touchdown.
Kubiak takes the ball every time he wins a toss but time and time again is perfectly content to waste final possessions in the first half. If there is a better encapsulation of his being a total motherfucking idiot then I would love to know about it.

Then McNair is the stupidest motherfucker in the history of organized sports. If he's that fucking stupid, he deserves Kubiak and the misery it brings. Anyone who has ever seen a football game, not coached but just watched, knew what KC was doing, but did Kubiak? Never dawned on him. Even the Chiefs fans "why don't the Texans keep someone in the backfield for pass protection? Is this Derek Newton's first game? If you guys never fielded a kick, you'd start with better field position..."

Don't know the Mojo Crew. We tailgated with the Traveling Texans. There were about 500 in our group I'd guess, but the Chiefs guy who helped organize said there were about 1,500 "organized" Texans fans. I'd guess there were probably 2,000 at least, counting the ones who were on their own. The KC Live party downtown Saturday night was probably 90% Texans fans.

Gotcha. A guy I tailgate with for UT games runs his own Texans Mojo tailgate and I saw they were up in KC with what seemed to be a ton of Texans fans. He's a big dude named Pat, who likes to shotgun Miller Lite.

Riiiight...because when three known potheads tell you they had all snuck out after curfew and gathered in a hotel bathroom to just smoke some Black and Milds, there's no reason to doubt their explanation. At least none of them fell asleep in the drive thru at Jack In The Box. Again.

In a world where there were any accountability, Rick Smith would now be on the chopping block. Montgomery was an asinine draft pick - a known "character issue" who didn't fit the Texans' defense, either.

I didn't see much of the game, but Keenum look infinitely more poised and comfortable out there than Schaub. He looked like he was playing catch. He also knew where the pocket was, where the pressure was coming from* and was able to move around to buy time for a receiver to get open. It was like nothing we've ever seen from a Texans' QB.
And Kubiak wants to put the cowardly statue back in.

No, the Chiefs figured out that Keenum wasn't making hot reads, so they overloaded the line. I'll give ubiak the benefit of the doubt and say that he was in a bind, as he couldn't keep an RB in to block as Tate was playing with broken ribs.

It's important to note that the Texans were 2-3 and getting their teeth kicked in at home against the lowly Rams before Schaub, Manning, Daniels, Cushing, Foster and Tate were injured. We should all remember this when McNair waffles at the end of the year and said that Kubes got the team to play so hard and battlefight despite all the injuries and adversity.

I don't. He had guys to block. If nothing else, he could have kept a TE in to block. He simply didn't recognize what was going on or didn't have any idea how to fix it.

I think "not blocking" doesn't come close to describing the gaping holes in the O-Line that I saw. Hali, in particular, seemed to be invisible to them.

I am torn between wanting to see more of Keenum (NTTAWWT) and thinking that, by persisting with Schaub and drawing the ire of the crowd, Kubiak will be booking his ticket out of town.

Something is not adding up with the info being shared by Kubiak. I was told by someone close to the situation that I trust and has been spot on accurate about many things that Schaub is hurt and likely has played his last down of football for the Texans. Also, my wife's best friend (i know, I know 31 flavors...it's very serious...blah..blah) saw Matt and his wife at Aria in Vegas two nights last week, which seems odd to me.

I saw somewhere (maybe in here) that there's a way to cut him after June 2014 and save some money. He'll end up on another team, as a backup, in the same way that the Top Gear guys always have a backup car in the form of a VW Beetle or a Morris Marina.

His salary is $14.5 million for 2014.
If we cut him before June 1, 2014, there is a $10 million dollar cap hit for 2014. So that means by cutting him prior to June 1, you have an extra $4.5 million.
If we cut him after June 1, there is a $4 million cap hit for 2014 and a $6 million cap hit for 2015. So you have an extra $10 million for 2014.
I think they cut him prior to June 1 and just take all the medicine in 2014. If Case is good enough, the cap won't be an issue because we can apply the $4.5 million in savings to address other needs.
