Went for a nice bike ride now I'm back just in time for the Astros to win the last game of the year.

Dingo K's.  Astros need one more K to tie the record and Carter is up.

There you go, though Carter made him work for it.

Well, that's certainly appropriate.

The marlins might get a cool walk-off WP to preserve a no-hitter to end the season, but at least the Astros have made history.

The record has been surpassed and we're headed to extra innings to pad the stats.

As far as monikers go, I think I prefer the Dingus over Dingo. They're both good, though.

'Dingus' sounds like something you call your little brother.

I'm hoping in a few years he'll hit a big walk off homerun in an important game and we can yell "the dingo ate my baby!" and not have it make any sense.

Could also be another name for Pence.

Another big game in Arlington-tied with Angels 2-2 in the sixth.  If Rangers lose they go home early too.

Can't wait for this to happen.

The Astros need to stop swinging at pitches which bounce off of home plate.

Thanks goodness that's over.

Looking forward to reading about the future for the next six months - much more uplifting than watching these games the past three weeks/years.

So ends the latest Season of Our Discontent.

Three years in a row I've thought: "well, it can't possibly get worse" and, of course, it did. Maybe this time it won't.

My hatred of FYB and the DH is undiminished one year after Selig's forced march to the AL.

Handi-wipes and a twelve pack of Charmin might be a good start.

Thanks RB.  Thanks for all you do here, and for a fine final recap for the season.  Shit, if you hadn't written that recap they might have played another game today.  You've done us all a service.

Handi-wipes and a twelve pack of Charmin might be a good start.

I read an interview with Noomi Rapace regarding her character in the Swedish Trilogy of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".  She said that after the last scenes were completed she got sick and threw up for 45 minutes-"it was like my body was ridding itself of Lisbeth (her character in the film).  After this season, I know how she felt.
