-
Fucking Altuve and his penchant for swinging at the first pitch, grounds into the 5-4-3 twin killing.
-
Lyles with three ground ball outs in the first frame. So far, so good.
-
Carter takes Miller deep oppo. 1-0. Wallace follows with a 1B to CF.
-
Good God Ashby is awful.
-
Good God Ashby is awful.
I'm stuck with the Jakes broadcast. They said that Martinez ran into an out at the plate exercising poor judgment.

It was a safety squeeze. Not poor judgment, though he didn't get a great jump.
-
Geez, turn the glove over and get in front of the ball Castro.
Lyles goes from 0-2 to the leadoff hitter to a walk, a wild pitch and an RBI single.
Shitfuck.
-
Double play to end the inning. Castro, that run is entirely your fault. You owe me a home run, just get back even.
-

Of course it was. I thought that was obvious, but apparently not to Al Hrabosky.
-
The Cardinal line up has sure changed since they won the WS.
-
Of course it was. I thought that was obvious, but apparently not to Al Hrabosky.
Then Hrabosky is an idiot.
-
Then Hrabosky is an idiot.
Yes, he is. He has been terrible on Cardinal broadcasts for 20 - 25 years now.
-
Castro swings at ball four over his head. He's not having a good game tonight.
-
Castro chases ball four for a K.
-
Yes, he is. He has been terrible on Cardinal broadcasts for 20 - 25 years now.
Well, at least Cardinal fans don't know the difference.
-
Geez, turn the glove over and get in front of the ball Castro.
Lyles goes from 0-2 to the leadoff hitter to a walk, a wild pitch and an RBI single.
Shitfuck.
Castro's defense still leaves a lot to be desired.
-
Martinez swings at one that almost hits his foot, then at one over his head. Between him and Castro, they've turned what should be bases loaded, no outs into two outs.
-
Sell out crowd. For the Astros. On a Wednesday.
-
That was three horrific at-bats.
-
Barnes swings at strike three over his head. Miller strikes out the side, but I don't think he actually had to throw a strike to do it.
-
Wasted opportunity.
-
Wasted opportunity.
Again. This is what separates the Astros from teams that don't have regular 7-game losing streaks. They simply cannot stomp on the gas. There are simply too many guys who can't put the ball in play.
-
Three more ground ball outs for Lyles, who's pitching a nice game. He'd have a 2-run lead if I were his catcher, but as it is, he's leading 2-1 heading to the 4th.
-
Altuve thinks he's vlad. Too bad he has no power
-
Holy shit, is that Hrabosky whining about pitchers and pitching coaches?
-
Not quite a homer, but a double just over john jay in center for castro
-
Holy shit, is that Hrabosky whining about pitchers and pitching coaches?
Miller can't find his groove, missing badly.
-
Altuve thinks he's vlad. Too bad he has no power
Altuve looks like he's regressed to his approach when he first came up in 2011: swing at everything. EVERYTHING.
-
Anyone catch the pre game show during which sparks asked wainwright who got you that shirt that you're wearing tight now that reads "I own the Astros"?

stuff like this is like cherry on top. There is nothing they can do for me to dislike them any more. But this just reminds me of why I dislike them
-
Fuckers.
-
I fucking hate Matt Holliday and his fucking stupid cue ball head.
-
Shit.
-
I fucking hate Matt Holliday and his fucking stupid cue ball head.
I only like him when he tries to catch line drives with his nuts.
-
I hate any team that is playing the Astros. I don't hate the Cards as much as some.

i honestly find it hard to hate just about anyone in the AL west

Ever met any Rangers fans?

Ever met any Rangers fans?
They come real close, braves fans are a few levels higher
-
I you don't hate the Mariners, you can't really love the Astros.
-

Ha, I will try harder
-
Cardinal announcers are bitching about the inconsistent strike zone.
-
Altuve scores the go ahead run on Wallace's single. Carter on third, Wallace on first. One out, Martinez batting. 4-3.
-

I listened for about two innings and got tired of their idiocy. Fuck it, I'm making some poster art. I believe I'll put on some tunes.

"Well, what do you know, that time it was a strike."
-
Martinez and Barnes strike out, middle of 7, Astros 4 Cardinals 3.
-
WW in to pitch, one out, man on first.
-
Gotta get Lyles out of there, skip...can't have a guy in there who's getting tough outs. Let Wesley Wright face the lefty...
Well fuckshit.
-
Fuck WW. I'm so tired of his act.
-

I like Wright. I'm bummed that he's sucked so bad this year.
-

It's not personal, I like him too, as a person. I just don't see any value there, as a ballplayer.

He's left-handed.
-
He's left-handed.
And that means exactly what when you can't get out either righties or lefties?
-
Castro has been brutal tonight.
-
Castro did get a double and scored the go ahead run at that point
Edit: wasn't go ahead, but 3rd run
-
But an allstar should be expected to catch up to a fastball
-
But an allstar should be expected to catch up to a fastball
He should be expected to lay off the ones over his head. And don't get me started about the expectations of all-star catchers and how his poor glove is directly responsible for the Cardinals' first run...
-
Uh, why was there no throw?
-
Uh, why was there no throw?
Cause Castro had his head up his butt.
-
Nasty slider from Cisnero
-
Wow, that is a huge break
-
What I'm fucking tired of is Carlos Pena taking up a spot on this club.
-
Wow, that is a huge break
Only momentarily.
-
Well, it ended with a dp anyways. This loss sucked
-
Well, it ended with a dp anyways. This loss sucked
Particularly because all they had to do was not stomp on their dicks.
I realize that the Astros are not a good team. I realize that they are overmatched pretty much every night. So it's doubly frustrating when they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on the few nights they *should* get a win.
-
Maybe when Maxwell comes back, Pena will be gone. He is the Astros' millstone.
-
Maybe when Maxwell comes back, Pena will be gone.
Out of the frying pan, into the fire
-
I'm curious... Pena pinch-hit for Barnes. Who would have played CF if the Astros had tied or pulled ahead there? Paredes? Elmore? Pretty weird not to have a legit backup CF on the roster.
-
Wodan must have been on vacation. Or maybe it signals the twilight of the gods. stros need all the help they can get.
-

I agree.

Excellent work and story. The canonization process wasn't quite crystallized back then. Local cults could actually just proclaim a saint without Rome even knowing about it. They used to make every pope a saint after death, but that stopped in about the sixth century. Several of the earliest popes are actually included by name in the Canon of the Mass (commonly known today as Eucharistic Prayer No. 1, which is rarely used today except in the Latin Mass).

Just like Biggio in the early days of AC. I always knew this place was a cult.

Indeed, it is.
