It is very much appreciated but unnecessary to thank me (I really enjoy posting the lineups), and, make no mistake, your gratitude is more than enough for me.
-
1st pitch, Jennings punches a fastball up the middle
-
Bedard walks Rodriguez, close pitch for ball 4. 2 on no outs
-
Did he throw that BP fastball (84 or so) on the first pitch? If so, that is at least the 3rd game in a row where he has done that. Too predictable.
-
Zobrist flies out to deep center. Both runners move up. 1 out
-

sorry didn't pay attention to the speed.

uh, a double play ball would be nice about now.

-
Escobar strikes out on an outside fastball.
Good guys up for the first time
-
uh, a double play ball would be nice about now.

-
Altuve grounds to 3rd. 2 outs
-
Carter strikes out on a slider in the dirt.
End of 1st

-
Zobrist promptly flies out to short.
Longoria flies to right. 2outs
-
Man, Brandon Phillips just hit a laser beam to left field for a home run off of Lincecum. It got out of the park in about 1/2 a second.
-
Myers strikes out on curve he was trying to get out of the way from. Bat crosses the plane. Funny out
-
David price fastball on outside corner. Cedeno caught looking. Has a few words with ump. It was a strike ronny

-
Man, Brandon Phillips just hit a laser beam to left field for a home run off of Lincecum. It got out of the park in about 1/2 a second.
I love seeing the shots where the ball gets out before the crowd has a chance to work the volume up to a full roar. I remember Eric Bruntlett hit one like that and it was out before anyone had a chance to scream. It was a pretty full house as I recall but just pretty much polite applause as he circled the bases because it all seemed to happen too quick.
-
Loney singles to right center
-
Molina walks on 4 pitches. Bedard up to 63 pitches in 4th inning
-
Johnson groundout, 4-3.
-
Good god, Jennings singles, 2 runs score on an awful throw by paredes that wasn't close to a single damn soul. Jennings moves up to second on that attempt of a throw. Then promptly steals 3rd
-
Bedard walks Rodriguez. Men on the corners
-
Zobrist pops up to 5 to end the rays fortunes
-
Elmore up bottom of 4th, grounds out 4-3

Speaking of Homer(s), might be a good time to watch that Bailey kid throw an inning or two. Just sayin'...
ETA: The game is being televised on MLB Network
-
Our offense sucks.
-
Ash and brown waxing about cabrera's skills. Nothing to talk about anyways. Altuve Ks swinging. Carter grounds to deep short, out by a hair. 36 pitches for price
-
Longoria singles past a diving 5
-
36 pitches for price
That's fucking pathetic plate management.
-
Myers flies out to 9

Paging Pete. I need someone to explain to me what is happening.
-
A bit-o-trivia from the Twitterverse...
Mike Acosta @AstrosTalk
7/2/94 After 539 games at 1B, Jeff Bagwell plays his first and only game ever in the outfield (RF). The Astros won 5-4 over the Cubs.
So the question is (which Acosta was kind enough to answer via Twitter), what precipitated the Bagwell appearance in RF?!?
-
Twin killing saves Bedard. Six fucking walks. Pitiful.
-
Paging Pete. I need someone to explain to me what is happening.
Perhaps you can ask MusicMan (http://www.spikesnstars.com/forums/index.php?topic=115826.msg474275;boardseen#quickreply)...
-
Yay, 4-6-3 double play on a groundout by loney

Paging Pete. I need someone to explain to me what is happening.

I remember that but don't recall the details. However, I do remember Whitey Herzog putting a righty relief pitcher in RF and bringing in a lefty for one batter, then bringing the righty back in to finish the inning on the mound.
-
48 tosses through five frames. Price looks pretty good to me tonight.
-
Cedeno cannot hit fastballs. Caught looking for the second straight damn time. Wouldn't have touched it even if he swung. I'm beginning to think he's a double agent
-
Top of the ninth in San Francisco.

Yea he looks incredible. First game back and he looks like cy young

Mike Acosta @AstrosTalk
...Terry Collins wanted to use Sid Bream at 1B because he has been hitting well at the time. A way to keep both guys in the lineup.
Mike Acosta @AstrosTalk
...He started in RF and moved to 1B in the 8th inning. He hit his 26th HR that game.
-
Molina Doubles to right center.
-
Johnson 4-3 groundout. Altuve had to make a nice diving play. Molina to 3rd.
Bedard done for the night. 95 pitches. josh fields in
-
Crap, I was thinking that the 96 MPH high heater strikeout to Abreu was the final out... Grounder to 3B seals the no-no in any event... (2nd of Bailey's career)!
-
Bailey just closed out the no-hitter.
-
Bailey tosses his second no hitter. He pitched the last no hitter last year and the first this year. The kid from LaGrange is pretty good.
-
Jennings crushes one to left. 1man on base. 5-0
-
Shit, tuned back to the Astros just in time to see Jennings two run shot.
-
Joyce PH, flies out to 9
-
Zobrist 6-3 groundout. Astros up to bat
-
Bailey got bailed out by Votto on a play that was Bagwell-esque. Blanco (or somebody) was on 2nd, and the batter hit a bouncer between 1st and 2nd, and Votto had to go to his right to pick it up. Bailey had a brain fart and didn't head to cover 1st until it was too late. Votto recognized that it was going to be close if he tossed the ball to Bailey, so he spun and threw a strike to 3rd to get Blanco trying to move up, which made the play a FC instead of a hit.
-
Joyce in left now for rays
-
Dominguez pops up to center
-
sounds like a team that has some players that care.
-
Paredes caught looking on inside fastball
-
My, Elmore caught looking inside corner
-
I presume this doesn't come as a surprise to anyone... but...
Brian T. Smith @ChronAstros
#Astros haven't scored a run since the sixth inning Sunday during 3-1 loss to #Angels. Eighteen consecutive scoreless innings. #Rays
-
Longoria strikes out check swinging on high cheese
-
Myers 6-3 groundout
-
Escobar pops upto 3. Maybe price will be able to break a sweat
-
johnstros, you are doing a great job. Paredes cannot play this game. He has no instinct for it. If this is a season about "seeing what we have" as Luhnow says....I've seen enough of Paredes. He's a fucking moron.
-
Altuve up, Ks looking outside corner
-
I knew the Astros weren't a good team, but sometimes they show how they are a bad team. Gives me heartburn.
-
Goodness, carter Ks looking outside corner
-
JD groundout, 6-3. 70 pitches for price after 7
-
I knew the Astros weren't a good team, but sometimes they show how they are a bad team. Gives me heartburn.
A good pitcher makes them look like Little Leaguers.
-
Oberholtzer in
-
3 games in a row. plus, there are a lot of good pitchers in MLB.
-
Loney to 1. Takes it himself to bag
-
Score por favor?
-
5-0
-
Molina flies out to 9
-
Single for Johnson to center. 2 outs
-
Single for Johnson to center. 2 outs
Barnes having a lttle snooze out there?
-
I find my self rooting for the Cards to beat the Angels... what's happening?!?!?
-

I wish some of them were here.
-

Unfortunately someone has to win.
-
I wish some of them were here.
They are here, just in the other dugout.
-
Barnes having a lttle snooze out there?
so, it wasn't just me wondering that.
-
Jennings flies out to 8. Top of 8th over
-
so, it wasn't just me wondering that.
A hit that drops in front of him by a good 10 feet
-
so, it wasn't just me wondering that.
The Rays commentators were also wondering.
-
Price out, a pitcher with the last name wright in to face corporan
-
Lead off runner on! Corporan hits a ball just off the dirt and puts it between 1st and 2nd for basehit
-
Price out, a pitcher with the last name wright in to face corporan
They must want to build the pitcher's confidence.
ETA: Hah! Bow before my awesome powers! My snark prompts Corporan to break an 0-for-8,000 streak.
-
Barnes hbp while doing check swing, 2 men on, no outs
Wright taken out, pitching change for rays
-
The Rays commentators were also wondering.
It didn't seem as if he was snoozing. Brownie and ash made a comment that the ball seemed to have more lift from certain angles
-

I missed them saying that, but in my defense I tend to try and tune out Ash.
-
Krauss in to PH for cedeno. A guy named peralta into pitch for rays
-
I missed them saying that, but in my defense I tend to try and tune out Ash.
Yeah, odd dynamic between the two.
-

Given the state of the team, the season and the uncertain future of just about everyone on the roster, I thought a bit of hustle and a dive may have been in order. But not to worry, Barnes can always come back and play in the ABL if he doesnt work out in Houston.
-
Krauss with a pretty good at bat, well relative to what we are seeing, Ks On a bender which catches the outside corner
-
Astros with one out men on 1st and 2nd
-
Dominguez pops up to 6. 2 outs, two men on 1st and 2nd
-
Paredes flies out to 7. Inning over. 9th inning up.
-
Oberholtzer still in, Joyce Ks on a curve swinging
-
Zobrist flies out to 8
-
It's hard to score when when the mean # of ABs between hits is 5 or 6.
-
Longoria singles to right. Ball drops just under paredes glove
-
Myers singles to center. Fuld was pinch runner for longoria goes to 3rd.
-
2 outs top of 9th, 5-0 rays up
-
Escobar doubles to deep right center. 2 runs score. 7-0
-
Loney with a liner to paredes, cannot keep the ball in front of him, and loney gets a double. Another run scores.
-
Molina Ks to mercifully end the top of the 9th.
-
It's hard to score when when the mean # of ABs between hits is 5 or 6.
Ha, I laughed, thanks!
-
Our favorite cubbie farnsworth in to pitch
-
8-0 rays
-
Elmore goes fishing for on a slider outside
-
Altuve groundout 4-3. 2 outs
-
what is the longest scoreless inning streak the Astros have had in history?
-
Carter flies out to 8 to end this game. I hope cedeno will not be our DH. Leftie rightie matchup be damned.

It's fun to do it with y'all
