Have a seat Jimmy!
-
Juan Pierre with a base knock over SS..
-
Nice play by Altuve to snag Utley's liner.. 2 outs
-
Altuve playing right field rover for Howard.
-
And MLB.tv skipped over Howard grounding out to second.
Moving to the bottom of the 1st, 0-0
-
Missed Altuve fouling out to the catcher but got to see F Mart ground out to short. 2 out.
-
Wallace caught looking to end the 1st.
-
MLB.tv having issues this evening.
-
How are you, Nate? It's good to see you here tonight.
-
Kevin Frandsen's helmet is positively Biggioesque.
-
How are you, Nate? It's good to see you here tonight.
Doing pretty well. Wife and child are out of the house so I can watch baseball in peace. :-)
How art thou?
-
Kevin Frandsen's helmet is positively Biggioesque.
Wonder if he's susceptible to the slider like Biggio.
-
Catching up now that mlb.tv is working again.. (and looking better on the roku than my laptop)
2 outs, man on 1st in the top of the 2nd
-
Geez, that didn't look so great.
-
I love JD. "It's like there's only so many runs in Pennsylvania. All the runs the Pirates were getting have shifted to the Phillies"
-
That's two he's hung since I've been watching.
-
F Mart should have had that.. but hasn't played a whole lot out there
-
Man on 2nd, one run in..
-
Doing pretty well. Wife and child are out of the house so I can watch baseball in peace. :-)
How art thou?
Fantastic, thanks. I received my first paycheck in over six years today. It feels damn good. I'm humbled and very grateful.
-
Pitcher grounds out to 2nd to end the 2nd. Phils lead 1-0.
-
Fantastic, thanks. I received my first paycheck in over six years today. It feels damn good. I'm humbled and very grateful.
Outstanding!
-
Fantastic, thanks. I received my first paycheck in over six years today. It feels damn good. I'm humbled and very grateful.
So now we can start calling you Easy Money?
-
F Mart should have had that.. but hasn't played a whole lot out there
He had to make an effort to not catch that.
-
I'd love to get my hands on one of those fleece blankets..
-
So now we can start calling you Easy Money?
By all means. Awesome series work on this one, RB. When my dad's father died, who lived in Marshall, Texas, we went and I got to talk to his house mate, an elderly gentleman who was a big league ball player who played against Babe Ruth. He told us some great stories about games and train rides, all of which time has washed away. Shitfick.
-
Maxwell strikes out
-
By the way, the Valleycats are down, 6-3, in the 8th in the winner-take-all 3rd game of the NYPL Championship Series. Send them your rallyest thoughts.
-
Castro is hitting .259 with 2 HRs and 35 RBI. I think I'd take that from the catcher position anytime..
-
But he flies out to right field. 2 outs.
-
Castro is hitting .259 with 2 HRs and 35 RBI. I think I'd take that from the catcher position anytime..
If they didn't also have a problem with, say, passed balls.
-
Not an especially good at-bat for Dominguez there. Goes down swinging after watching two strikes sail by. 3 outs.
-
'Cats are down 3 in T8. Batista with a one-out PH single in T8, Heineman at the dish.
-
Rollins grounds out on the first pitch to Altuve.
-
If they didn't also have a problem with, say, passed balls.
I like Castro, and think his knee injury has affected his D a lot, but all the "wild pitches" and the 17% caught stealing ain't too good either.
-
Pierre smacks one up the middle for single. 1 out and a man on 1st
-
'Cats are down 3 in T8. Batista with a one-out PH single in T8, Heineman at the dish.
Nuts.
-
Nice piece of hitting by Utley, takes the curve to right field. Men on 1st and 3rd, one out.
-
A healthy Howard and a healthy Utley make a lot of difference.
-
Shit, who let the wheels come off of this thing?
-
A healthy Howard and a healthy Utley make a lot of difference.
And a shitty, stupid opposing defense.
-
Are Brown and Mayberry why Victorino and Beaker became expendable?
-
Gameday is so slow.
-
And a shitty, stupid opposing defense.
Though it's nice to hear JD calling them out on it.
-
Are Brown and Mayberry why Victorino and Beaker became expendable?
So sayeth JD.
-
Harrell needs another pitch. He can get to two strikes but can't finish, at least tonight.
-
Harrell needs another pitch. He can get to two strikes but can't finish, at least tonight.
Perhaps that's another thing to hang on young Castro. After that conference Harrell threw a gem to get the strikeout.
-
Perhaps that's another thing to hang on young Castro. After that conference Harrell threw a gem to get the strikeout.
Possibly so. I strongly suspect that he's hurt the Angel of Doom, whose hammer is pretty good. He needs to be able to throw it in the dirt ahead in the count with runners on base.
-
On to the bottom of the 3rd after that train wreck of an inning. 4-0 Phillies. Paredes at the dish
-
I got to admit, having two wild cards makes for a more interesting end to the season. The Phillies are closer to making the playoffs than the Angels.
-
Hey, how about that.. a blooper! Paredes with a broken-bat infield single.
-
Harrell needs another pitch. He can get to two strikes but can't finish, at least tonight.
Harrell needs another center fielder. These guys have been over these plays a million times, and at some point you have to question Maxwell's intelligence.
-
Greene pops out to short. 1 out.
-
Harrell up to bunt.
-
Fouls off third strike via bunt so he's out. 2 out.
-
Altuve calmy strokes one to center for a single. Men on 1st and 2nd, 2 outs.
-
Martinez plunked in the hamstring to load the bases.
-
Wallace grounds out to second to end the threat. Going to the 4th, Phils up 4-0
-
God damn it, Wallace. We needed a hit there badly. His average is dropping like a rock, yet this brain dead manager keeps hitting him third. He must think that he's still in OkC.
-
Harrell gets a strikeout
-
Dominguez excited to get a chance for a play and almost biffs it. Bobbles a little bit but still gets Rollins. 2 outs.
-
Nice play by Greene to just nip Pierre. 1-2-3 inning for once... still 4-0 Philly as we go to the bottom of the 4th.
-
Maxwell bangs one into center for a lead-off single.
-
God damn it, Wallace. We needed a hit there badly. His average is dropping like a rock, yet this brain dead manager keeps hitting him third. He must think that he's still in OkC.
Who, exactly, would be a better choice? Our cup is not overflowing.
-
Broken bat hit for Castro. Men on 1st and 2nd with no outs
-
Matt Dominguez has gone nuts.
-
Dominguez with a Crawford box special! 3-run HR! Now 4-3 Phils still with no one out.
-
Maybe Wallace and Dominguez ought to swap places in the batting order...
-
Nice boot, Pierre.
-
Parades swings at high cheese and strikes out.
-
Greene hits one out to left that Pierre can't corral and gets a double.
-
Nice boot, Pierre.
No fair being able to see this live.. :)
-
Harrell swats at one and misses. 2 outs.
-
Ok, so who, in their wildest dreams, would ever believe that John Mayberry would have a kid who would play centerfield in the majors?
-
Altuve drives one to deeper center but Mayberry tracks it down easily. 3 outs. Phils lead after 4, 4-3.
-
Top of the 5th,
Utley draws a walk, Harrell wanted nothing to do with him.
-
Harrell knocks down Howard's line drive and gets him at first.
-
Mayberry grounds out to short, 2 out and a man on 3rd.
-
Brown flies out to center. 3 outs.
-
4-3 Phils through five.
-
Two quick outs. F Mart lines out to left and Wallace (surprise) grounds out.
-
Maxwell grounds out to third. 4-3 after 5
-
87 pitches for Harrell, 54 of them in two innings.
-
Fransden flies out to right.. 1 away.
-
Kratz grounds out to Greene.. 2 outs.
-
Orr pinch hits for the pitcher.
-
And lines one to left over the infield. Man on 1st, 2 outs.
-
Orr steals 2nd. Probably stolen on Harrell.
-
Rollins walks. Pierre up.
-
Ah well.
-
Pierre walks
-
That's it for Harrell, 105 pitches. Looked like he was talking to someone as he walked off the field but couldn't tell who or what was going on.
-
Harrell was bitching at the HPU as he walked off the field and got tossed, so he'll get a fine for that.
-
That's it for Harrell, 105 pitches. Looked like he was talking to someone as he walked off the field but couldn't tell who or what was going on.
Evidently it was the HPU, because he just got the boot (after being given the hook)...
Zachary Levine @zacharylevine
Lucas Harrell was just ejected as he was leaving the field after getting the hook.
-
Just showed him getting the boot.
-
Good hustling coverage of the bag by Cedeno.
-
He had a right to be torqued about some of those calls.
-
MLB.tv must be a good 2 minutes behind.
-
Mid 6, 4-3 Phils.
-
MLB.tv must be a good 2 minutes behind.
I appreciate the PBP and I'm trying to not step on your toes.
-
I appreciate the PBP and I'm trying to not step on your toes.
No worries. It's just a little surprising to see things a couple minutes before they happen on my TV..
-
Castro walked to lead off the inning. Dominguez up.
-
Brown rushes in to catch Matt's poke. 1 out.
-
Paredes swings at a nice breaking ball to strike out.
-
JD ripping on the radio guys..
-
Greene weakly swings at strike 3. 3 outs. Phils still lead 4-3
-
JD ripping on the radio guys..
It can't be that they only suck to us. Other people have to know this. Don't they?
-
In my next life I will take the name of Raul Bastardo.
-
"...his dad was a big power-hitting first baseman; his son went to Stanford."
-
Cedeno has got a quick motion. It makes that fastball sneaky fast.
-
In my next life I will take the name of Raul Bastardo.
That's convenient: you'll be able to re-use your monogrammed clothes.
-
That's convenient: you'll be able to re-use your monogrammed clothes.
Careful planning is important.

6 1/2 innings, 2 1/2 hours. What the hell is going on?
-
6 1/2 innings, 2 1/2 hours. What the hell is going on?
Hell, it was 10pm before we got to the 7th inning the other night. We're practicing for next year.
-
Hell, it was 10pm before we got to the 7th inning the other night. We're practicing for next year.
That FTC game was like some kind of zombie march.
-
It's WaMi's birthday!
-
Barnes singled and stole second, but Downs struck out for the second out. Wallace is up.
-
Who, exactly, would be a better choice? Our cup is not overflowing.
You're right. There's no better choice in a lineup that is chock full of 7 and 8 hitters, save Altuve.
-
Ok, so who, in their wildest dreams, would ever believe that John Mayberry would have a kid who would play centerfield in the majors?
Not I, boss.
-
Wallace strands the tying run by popping out to third. 4-3 through seven.
-
You're right. There's no better choice in a lineup that is chock full of 7 and 8 hitters, save Altuve.
Aaaaarggghhh. Your timing is impeccable. Wallace just popped out to end the inning with the tying run on 2nd.
-
Ambriz is pitching.
-
I wonder if Wallace sees his major league dreams fading away.
-
Of course, they could just trade him to Miami and his career will be rejuvenated.
-
Aaaaarggghhh. Your timing is impeccable. Wallace just popped out to end the inning with the tying run on 2nd.
Wallace is still susceptible to being pitched up and in. He's got to get over that, or he's a AAAA player.
-
The Kid is in now, one out.
-
He fans Schierholz, two down.
-
WW walks Rollins. Ruiz up.
-
Ruiz with an infield single in the hole.
-
Getting pretty sick of these classless fucks booing like hell on every play.
-
Rollins steals third.
-
Utley bounces out to Altuve.
-
Frenchy Aumont from Quebec is pitching.
-
If the Phightins hold on and win this one, a Rosenberg will be the winning pitcher. Wonder when was the last time that happened?
-
If the Phightins hold on and win this one, a Rosenberg will be the winning pitcher. Wonder when was the last time that happened?
Steve Rosenberg, 1991.
-
Dominguez is up with two on and one out.
-
Steve Rosenberg, 1991.
Apparently, the Phightins' pitcher tonight has a win this year already, despite an Astrosesque 11 ERA.
-
Would have been nice if Utley had actually tagged the runner there.
-
Holy shit, nice throw by the Phillie catcher to nail Schafer.
-
Naturally, it's followed by a walk that would have moved the runner to second anyway.
-
Dominguez walks and Moore pinch hits.
-
Thanks for picking up Ron, had an in-house IT call to attend to. Kid's report is due tomorrow.
-
Wow, Moore is plunked on the foot. Ow.
-
If the Phightins hold on and win this one, a Rosenberg will be the winning pitcher. Wonder when was the last time that happened?
About the same time as H-bombs, Sugar Ray, and Panmujom.
-
Lyles is running for Moore.
-
Naturally, it's followed by a walk that would have moved the runner to second anyway.
Why run when the pitcher can't find home plate with a fucking GPS? Baseball 101. I hope that DeFrancesco isn't the permanent manager.
-

But he gives out headphones!
-
Diekman pitching, Lowrie hitting.
-

No problem, good luck.
-
Two-run pinch double!
-
5-4 Good Guys.
-
Two-run pinch double!
MLB.TV just now showed it.
ETA: Its probably running about 90 seconds behind... Ugh!
-
Jed for President! Nice piece of hitting..
-
I got really excited thinking this was the ninth inning. I'm glad nobody saw me jumping in the living room.
I'm still pretty excited though. Fuck the phils.
-
6-4!
-
MLB.TV just now showed it.
Something else just happened, but you'll have to wait for it.
-
Jed for President! Nice piece of hitting..
Is that his first hit in 2+ months?
-
It should be 7-4. I hope that extra run doesn't come back to haunt us. I ain't exactly feeling comfortable with Lopez as the closer.
-
6-4!
And the RBI just came through...
-
I haven't read the entire thread for tonight's game, so forgive me if this is cabrera'd, but I read somebody - Levine, I think - who said that there are now no former phillies on the astros roster and the only former astro on the phillies roster is Wiggy, who is many teams since removed. Amazing that Wade was the GM just last year. Ch-ch-changes.
-
And the RBI just came through...
But wait! There's more...
-
Something else just happened, but you'll have to wait for it.
I've got my 'timing' down now... It's all good!
-

Yep. Big tides.
-
An off-the-wall question... when does one think about getting laser surgery to remove those tattoos?
-
Nice, Altuve (and yes I realize what was going on).
-
An off-the-wall question... when does one think about getting laser surgery to remove those tattoos?
I don't get tattoos at all.
-
Howard is 3 for 4 against Lopez.
-
I don't get tattoos at all.
Me either.
-
Astros win!
-
Fuck yeah! 3-6-1!
-
And the fan goes wild!
-
And I get to write up a win!!! Yahoo!!!!
-
Sweet double play. Astros win!
-
And the fan goes wild!
Tony D is turning the corner with this team. Right?
-
That was an awesome win. I think the general rarity and the particular drama in this one combine for a terrific feeling.
And rum, of course. Good times.
-
Tony D is turning the corner with this team. Right?
Acceptable!
-
Tony D is turning the corner with this team. Right?
Matty D gets some headphones.
-
Matty D gets some headphones.
I dunno, he might be due for a ten-speed after this one...
-
Tony D is turning the corner with this team. Right?
He's 7-16 now.
-
Astros Win!!! Screw the Phils!!!
