Everybody must be traveling to Houston for tomorrow's festivities.

I'm sitting in a parking lot, waiting to go to work. A half dozen 5'7", 280 lb misanthropes just walked by, knuckles dragging. One was wearing a Napoli jersey.

That was offset by the homeless drug addict dragging this evening's heavily medicated, wildeyed and stumbling conquest off to the creek behind Sixth Street. What an enticing tableau.

That's too bad. He was great with JD and Brownie. Niekro's daughter is with them now.

Raymond was uncharacteristically and mercifully silent. Ausmus gave him shit about it.

Happy reporting for duty. Sorry I'm late. I've been out all day.

Bravo for Ausmus giving someone deserving some shit, but not-bravo for the who and the why!

I fear that we wasted our only opportunity against Miley in the first inning. Why's Gonzalez playing against a lefty, that double notwithstanding?

Another chance here. Let's at least get one.

And we do. Good call. Against a good pitcher, you have to take advantage and cash in on your opportunities, because they're few and far between.

Pearce wishes that he had that first 0-2 mistake back. Miley breathed a sigh of relief after tossing that one. When you throw a mistake, you usually know it immediately. I don't know how many times I got let off of the hook for mistakes.

No kidding. I almost jumped out of my chair on that one. I was already seeing it arc into the LF concourse.

Ok, we give Castro a lot of shit for his work behind the plate, but that was a first-class block right there. And then FeRod ends the inning on a nice strike on the outside edge. Almost like real baseball.

Francisco with a solid single up the middle to give us men on 1st and 2nd with none out in the bottom of the 8th. Barnes up, presumably for a sac bunt.

Castro pops out to short left. 2 outs now, with Bogusevic coming up to pinch hit for the pitcher. I'm sure this will work out well.

Good news: Bogey didn't ground out to 2nd.
Bad news: Bogey struck out to end the inning.

On to the 9th inning, down 3-1.

What was wrong with that pitch? The comeback is going to be even longer if they're going to get fucked by the umpires because of their reputation.

Going to the bottom of the 9th, still down 3-1. Cross your fingers.

J. J. Putz on for the bottom of the 9th. I think we've seen him before.

Brownie delivers the news that we've stranded 10, while the DoucheBags have stranded 6. This news doesn't make me feel better.

Altuve grounds back to the mound. Somehow Scott Moore (pinch-hitting for Greene) is going to have to hit a 2-run homer even though nobody is on base.

That's plenty of reason. If that happens tomorrow night, there's no telling what will happen in the sky box.

And there's the end. A swinging strike at a pitch in the dirt, a fitting end.

The Astros wouldn't have that problem if they'd sign some slugger to a 6-year $100M deal (with a limited no-trade clause)...
