Astros down in order, but worked two full counts.

Keuchel not off to a good start, allowing a leadoff single to Aoki. Bunted over to 2B.

Braun walks, but Keuchel clearly pitched around him. Double steal. Errormiss singles home Aok, with Braun to 3B. Keuchel is making a mess.i.

Hart obliges with a 4-6-3 to end the frame with only one run scoring. 1-0 Top 2

What's the difference between Keuchel and Happ?

Yes, this time. But that lineup has too many dangerous hitters to pitch around them all.

What's the difference between Keuchel and Happ?

As a pitcher, actually quite a bit. Keuchel doesn't work up in the zone like Happ. Both are nibblers though.

I'm definitely not sold on him yet.

Happ is more aggressive and can at least attempt to pitch inside.  Kuechel has way better command but is harder for me to watch as he is so fucking tentative.  Attack a batter once in a while.

FWIW, I think he's awful. I see nothing.

He's definitely not fun to watch but I don't know who would take his spot in this rotation.

Happ has better velocity. But I didn't see much inside work from him either.

He better be careful with Ransom, or it'll be 4-0.

Fuck, safety squeeze, Wallace makes a stupid play. 2-0 with nobody out and the second time through the order now.

Another twin killing saves Keuchel. But this one run per inning won't work with Astrokilla Gallardo on the bump.

Post by: Mr. Happy on July 31, 2012, 07:58:06 pm
Snyder takes Gallardo into the bully. 2-1 now.

The combination of walks and long balls is lethal. Three run dong to Errormiss. Six walks through 1.1 innings. He's pitching like he's scared. And probably should be. He's got nothing.

The third double play in as many innings saves Keuchel's ass again. 5-1 Top 4

Just more nibbling and grooved one to Errormiss, who didn't miss it.

MLB should be a Keuchel-free zone.
Title: Re: Astros @ Brewers 07/31/12
Post by: Mr. Happy on July 31, 2012, 08:31:58 pm
Gallardo through four is in control. 5-1. The only good news is that he's running up a little bit of a pitch count, which means that we can get into their bully around the seventh, if the game isn't out of reach by then.

I agree with that. I've seen more than enough.

Errormiss singles Peen to 2B. Nobody out to Hart. That chases Keuchel.

Pretty sure C. Fick, RHP will be a footnote in history.

He does do that spin move to see how far the ball was hit to dead center really deftly, though.

That wasn't exactly the way that I wanted to see the bases cleared. 8-1 now, closing the book on Keuchel: seven earnies in three innings with six walks.

+1 I've sure seen enough. A  HANGING SINKER BALLER HAS LITTLE VALUE

Just flipping quickly through the memory banks trying to find a recent historical comp for Mr. Fick.  For some reason Mark "Exxon" Valdes comes immediately to mind.

I would say maybe Joe Slusarski, but I am pretty sure Joe Slusarsky was a much better pitcher than Chuckie Fick. Which is saying something.

Fond memories of those guys. I liked Slusaraski as a guy because I knew him when he was a Zephyr. He's UNO guy, and I met him there a few times.

I'm trying to keep up with that. Burnett has thrown a nono previously, but he walked nine in that game. Only two walks through seven.

The club, if I'm reading baseball-reference.com correctly, is hitting .075 with the bases loaded and two out.

Again, if I'm reading the stats correctly, we're 12-84 on the year with the bases loaded, for a .143 batting average.

Can't believe that Roenicke and Narron or Kranitz get run in the ninth inning of a 10-1 ball game. I'd love to know what was said to piss off HPU that much.

Shitfick.

He should be DFA'd with Cordero tomorrow. I've also seen enough of Cruz to conclude that his command problems are too great to overcome, but we'll hang on to him so that he can pitch in AAA next season. Whoopty shit.
