Is it any surprise Jamie Moyer, trying to win a job with the Rockies at 49, needed some extra rest after a strong outing last Sunday? The man is only four degrees of separation away from Hall of Famer Eddie Collins, who made his debut in 1906. Moyer was a teammate of Nolan Ryan, who pitched to Ernie Banks, who faced Vic Raschi, who pitched to Doc Cramer, who was a teammate of Collins.

That's actually five degrees of separation, but still impressive. You can get back in a hurry if you played with guys like Moyer, Ryan, Tim McCarver Pete Rose, etc.

That's also true for Pudge who the Royals are inviting to camp and is 10 years younger.
