Crytsal Palace defeats Man U at Old Trafford. (http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/news/_/id/7300340/crystal-palace-eliminates-manchester-united-league-cup) Other things that have taken place since that last occurred:

The Astros played in the World Series.
The Red Sox won a World Series.
Rice beat UT in football.
Iraq invaded Kuwait.
The Berlin Wall fell.

I assume that Limey will hold a fitting celebration tonight.

Rice beat UT in football.
Pretty sure that never happened.

I assume that Limey will hold a fitting celebration tonight.

My nephew was one of the 5,000 Palace fans who out-sang the home Utd fans all night.  I was watching at the boozer, sucking down Stellas to ease the tension.  Ambrose's exocet-goal (http://soccer-portal.org/goal-of-the-day/7203-darren-ambrose-goal-v-man-utd.html) is being widely hailed as the best goal scored by an opponent in all the years that Utd has played at Old Trafford.

ETA:  It's not like he hasn't embarrassed Premiership goalies from that sort of distance before (http://soccer-portal.org/goal-of-the-day/1201-darren-ambrose-goal-v-aston-villa.html).
