I've heard complaints about treatment after filing a claim. But most people only care if insurance is cheap or if they can pay monthly. They learn the real value if they have to use it.

That's not real clear. Seems like you could use someone else's car as long as it was insured and registered, and then you wouldn't personally have to have the insurance, etc. It's reasonable to have to furnish the vehicle for the driving test, but not reasonable to require someone to own a car before they could get a license to drive.

That's a lot of guys getting on base.

Baseball-reference.com says 166 double plays, which is still 44 more than the next highest. Team OBP is .339; league avg is .319, and the Astros are at .311.

It's a long, long wave to ride from where this team is to where it needs to be. A long and painful wave.

Diana Nyad gave up after swimming around 80 miles because of the paralyzing jellyfish stings. We're at about mile fifty.

One way of looking at Towles is that the record holder for most rbi's in a game for the Astros is at the plate.

Another way of looking at him is that he sucks and if he gets a hit it will even suprise him.

Say, that reminds me. I looked up the other day and I now have Cinemax Latin America on my cable lineup. And at about 11 or so every night they play two episodes of The Wire. The first is a repeat of the second the night before; the second is a new one. We're in the first season and despite having seen it at least three times earlier I am loving it. I love it so much I can happily re-watch an episode I watched just the night before. I don't know whether that means the show merits the attention or if I am borderline autistic. Either way, I certainly hope the Astros win this game within the next hour or so.

We've been over this around here quite a bit as I'm sure you know, and I'm sure you know where I stand on this. It is the best television show in history and there is nothing even close. Season five (I've seen that season only once and am sort of saving up to see it again) is I think the weakest for a number of reasons but still completely engrossing.

Holliday's contract runs through 2022. In time, you will.

He doesn't seem all that Jake-y to me, just a damned good hitter playing ball. He may succumb though.

The Cowboys are driving late for the win. No way Romo lets that happen.

Kubiak has to be loving this. See?! You CAN win with field goals!

You see the uniform he wears. Look, I loved Dotel once upon a time.

If his uni says Jake-y, then he is all that Jake-y.

Speaking of Bob Gibson, Denny McLain got popped for outstanding warrants from Louisiana as he was turning around from accidentally driving into Canada last week.

I saw a fat Denny McLain getting hit around the Texas League in 1972. It was sad.

Yeah. I was a Tiger fan as a kid. My favorite player was Al Kaline, for no particular reason. I loved the 1968 Series. That fall from grace was damn near unprecedented.
