E.Young grounds out to Altuve. Ellis bounced out deep in the hole to Barmes, who made a long looping throw that nicked Ellis at the bag. Smith walked, but Kouzmanoff rolled out to the mound to end the top of the first.

Amazing that Kevin Millwood is pitching in the major leagues, and pretty decently at that.

Schafer with a chopper to first, one down.

Altuve works the count but bounces out to short, two down. Martinez up.

Milwood appears to be testing the boundaries of the strike zone.

Martinez flies out to right, end of one and no score.

Pacheco leads off the second with a soft single to center. Wiggy up.

Wiggy way behind on it but he gets enough bat on it to flare one to center for a single. Runners on the corners now, Iannetta up.

Harrell gets a comebacker and goes to second to start the DP, but the throw is low and it skips past Barmes into center. Run scores, runners still on the corners with no outs. Field up.

Field singles to left, driving in Wiggy. 2-0 Rox, runners on first and second, still no outs.

Yeah, and to continue the theme my daughter's thrown a tire 30 miles away and now I get to be the rescue squad.

After that 50-odd mile round trip and pleasant diversion, I came away with one truth.

DoRay are completely unlistenable. I am so tired of their inane, didactic moralism and smirking know-it-all polemics.

I left and it was working up to 3-1. I get back, and it's 11-1 and there is no doubt that the Rockies are beating the living shit out of a listless, bumbling team who should be ashamed of this performance on Fan Appreciation Day. Perhaps there is more than a little irony on display.

13-1 on Kouzmanoff's two-run jack off the top of the wall in left.

Shit sandwich? It's the whole buffet.

He's got nothing. I don't understand why we're not clobbering him.

Wiggy triples over Schafer's head. This is awful. I hope they aren't using those t-shirts for vomit bags.

Brutal performance today. Just brutal.

14-1 on a sac fly.

Kouzmanoff gets another two-run homer, this one off of Cedeno in the eighth and it's 16-1.

Apparently, the 'Stros think fans appreciate runs.

Iannetta takes a looping curve from Cedeno into the arches above left for a three-run homer. It's 19-1 now, going to the bottom of the eighth.

Apparently, the 'Stros think fans appreciate runs.

The first thing I thought after reading that was, "Chicks dig the..." but then what I came up with was something most chicks I've known decidedly didn't dig, although it's certainly apt for what the Astros have given up today.

Apropos your "celebration dragon" sig, when we went to see "Moneyball" the other night we got the trailer for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". Fans of the book who were concerned that they might just draft some normal person for the title role can relax.

I haven't read the book - my wife and some friends have, and they love it - but I really like the trailer a lot.

Yeah,  but almost better than games like last night.  Took 3 of my boys to the game and we stayed through the excruciating extra innings where the boys just blew every dadgum opportunity....the failure to put down a decent bunt.....a man at second with no one out who doesn't score.....it was brutal.

But, they love baseball and we stayed.  Dad didn't want to but the boys and I overruled.....you don't leave a game early, I've always told them.

Yep. If it wouldn't have been a September game, a position player (or two) would have pitched.

We were there too--I think it got pretty positive from a fan perspective in the 9th, lots of yelling and "go team" type stuff.
When Carlos scored in the 9th, it looked like nothing was going to stop him when he came around 3rd.  Kind of funny.
