Title: Astros @ Fish 7/7/11
Post by: Mr. Happy on July 07, 2011, 06:27:57 pm
Happ is nibbling again. It's killing me. Again. Two on and one out. Ramirez at bat.

Happ bows his neck and gets out of it. 0-0 Top 2

Happ starts nibbling right off the bat in the second inning, walking a hitter.

Happ is painful to watch this season.

I thought he was going to give up the homer in the first instead of the second so I guess that's progress.

Another leadoff walk. Sigh.

Hand nibbling also?  I can't see the game, but he's walked 3 (and given up no hits).

At 76 pitches with one out in the fourth. Get ready for a long night, bullpen. Again.

Well over 80 pitches through four, thanks to five K's and six BB's.

Cameron's still a pretty good CF.

Yep. He's really long in the tooth too to be playing out there.

Two more runs score. 4-0 Given that their hurler is looking like Cy Young, we don't have a shot.

Another shit performance from Happ. In my opinion, he needs to totally change his approach and start keeping the ball down.

We're fucking pathetic at the plate.

He can work on that at OKC.

Does he have options? If he does, it'd surprise me.

Who the hell do you want to start in his place? Aneury? Figueroa? I mean, really, as bad as Happ is there is no one who's close to challenging for a rotation spot. They need to convince him somehow to pitch to guys. He's got pretty decent stuff. I'm baffled about why he refuses to throw strikes.

Steve Campbell (via Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/CampbellChron/status/89138391815434241)): Happ's ERA is 5.76, making him 61st of of the 61 National League qualifiers for the ERA title.

What the hell was that, Carlos?

Also, ballgame over. 3-hit shutout.

A fitting end to that game. I assume he thought there were two outs, as there would be no need to get an extra base down five.

Mercy. Lord.

While at Central Market earlier tonight a woman had her toddler dressed in a Pujols replica jersey t-shirt. I had a notion to call CPS. Should have.

Keuchel?

This.  If management thinks he's not ready, go with Aneury.
