A television commercial for a vibrator.

When Ron Brand was your age, you couldn't say the word "toilet" on the television.   When Jim R was your age, neither had been invented yet.

Age-ist.

That's nothing new.  The strange part to me is that they're playing it at 10 AM on Christmas morning, during the Star Wars marathon.  Parents will probably have to do some awkward explanations!

Do you have children?  I can't let my kids watch shows like "How it's made" or "How do they do that?" on the Science Channel because they also run commercials for "Oddities" and some of their other adult oriented programming.  As an example, the spot for Oddities runs... Customer, "What I have is a jar with a pig in it....  "  Owner "Well, there are many folks who'd be up to eating it..."  at which point my son is asking "Dad, what's in that jar?"   The net spot runs involving a petrified cat carcass.  My oldest (age 7) loves animals and you can see the pain in his face.  "Dad, why would someone do that?"  "Son, I'm sorry you saw that.  I'm afraid that you aren't old enough to understand what some people find interesting.  What's important is that you never unnecessarily harm an animal."

This was also on Christmas day.  Now, we record episodes of these show so we can pre-screen and fast forward through the commercials for my kids.  The content is great, the discretion on when to run advertisement for adult content is/was piss poor.
