If you're so inclined, please say a prayer or two for my dear friend Lori (Tullos) Barta and her family. She underwent bypass surgery on the 13th in Austin and suffered several complications. She has been fighting for her life for the past seven days. Today, her family made the unbelievably difficult decision to turn off the machines that were keeping her alive.
Lori had just turned 39 years old and is survived by her husband Adam and her three daughters Emma (7), Hannah (6) and Sarah (3).
She is one of those people that makes you want to do better in just about everything.

Sorry to hear this, and my thoughts are with you. My brother lost his wife and his 2 sons lost their mother to cancer, when she was just 38.

Praying for her family. Saw your Twitter post, and figured it wasn't good, but that's just unthinkable.
-
So sorry to hear this. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Was this by any chance related to pulmonary hypertension? I didn't even know what it was until a couple of years ago, and I've now lost three friends, wonderful young women in their mid-late 30's, from it.
-
Sorry to hear that Andy. I have a cousin who isn't doing well also. Very hard times.
-
Sorry to hear. Bless her family.

Me, too.
-
That's heartbreaking, Andy. I'll say a prayer for the family.

Very hard read, but I admire this lady for the strength and courage she obviously had. I know we don't know what struggles she had privately, but if this is a testament she'll leave her children, I pray God will bring solace to them that they had a brave and great Mom who loved them. Her words will help the healing for her own children as they grow older and question why this happened.
-
Wow, that's awful. And so young. Thoughts to her and her family.
-
Just prayed...
I'll echo the sentiments of the others who have replied. My son has had multiple heart surgeries. My heart breaks for this family.
-
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
-
That's terrible, and to have it all happen so fast certainly can't make it any easier. Also the fact that, according to the statistics she posted on her blog, 97-98% of patients in her demographic survive the procedure.
Will be praying for them.
-
My gosh, so sorry to hear. Will say some prayers for her family and friends.
-
Andy,
There are no words. I pray for all who loved this beautiful woman, especially her husband and daughters. So very sorry for your loss.
