Fucking SD. Someone move the rabbit ears
-
Its a rare game that should be in hd on time warner dallas and i get bars on the sides of the screen
-
Good to see the guys in grown up suits tonight while the Giants are wearing their BP clothes. And those tops are hideous.
-
Direct TV out here. Any game descriptions would be appreciated. I don't trust DoRay to give me any relevant insight.
-
Top of 2nd.
Gunther actually hit a ball in the air. Unfortunately, it was a lazy hump-back to CF.

I've just officially put in for the switch to dtv - dont like the implication that im better off with TW
-
Feliz lines to CF on a 3-1 count.
-
Manella walks on a full count (after fouling off several pitches). Runner on 1st, 2 outs.
-

We have had DirectTV over 2 years and this is only the second time that weather has messed it up (except of course in the middle of hurricanes).
Our cable service went out all the time.....daily......they sucked.
-
Cash pops out to SS just in front of second. Going to the bottom of the 2nd, Giants up 1-0.
-
Schierholtz single on an excuse-me piece of shit to LCF.
Schierholtz steals second on a bang-bang play.
Downs doubles to the LCF fence, scoring Schierholtz, Giants up 2-0.
Wellemeyer sacs to 3B, Downs moves to 3rd. 1 down.
-
Paulino can't find the strike zone to save himself.
-
Paulino walks Rowand on a full count. Men on 1st and 3rd, 1 out.
-
Torres doubles to RCF, scoring Downs from 3rd and moving Rowand to 3rd. Giants up 3-0, still only 1 down.
Sandoval, who appears to have eaten Shamu, is up.
-
Man, Paulino looks terrible. Luckily Wellemeyer doesn't seem that great either-- Astros should get to him second time through the order
-
Sandoval grounds out 4-3, scoring Rowand from 3rd. Giants up 4-0, 2 down.
-

Location problems or more?
-
Paulino strikes out Molina to finally end the inning. Giants up 4-0.
Paulino has thrown about 45 pitches through 2 innings, maybe (maybe!) half of them strikes.
-
Location problems or more?
He appears to have little idea where the ball is going to go.
-
Location problems or more?
Location, but he's also pitching too high in the zone and so the giants are jumping all over his weak breaking stuff
-
I made the comment to YoungerSon, "Sandoval appears to have eaten Carlos Lee."
Then Bengie Molina came up to the plate.
-
Sorry for the delay; folding laundry.
Astros go down 1-2-3. Paulino made an out somehow, Bourn hit a hard ground ball down the 1B line that Huff made a nice play on, and Kepp hit a hard ball to the left the second baseman who made a nice play on it.
On to the bottom of the 3rd, Giants up 4-0.
-
Huff up, winds up striking out on a 2-2 pitch. Much better sequence for Paulino there. He's probably now at the same point that most of us get to in our golf game, where the score is irretrievable and you just say fuck it and swing the club. And then good things start happening.
8-hitter strikes out on some some nice pitches.
Wellemeyer up, strikes out on some more nice pitches.
Much better pitching by Paulino that inning.
Trivia question is evidently "who played 500 games for both the Astros and the Giants". Played in the 60s and 70s. My guess is Rader.

exactly. he was throwing real tentative earlier in the game and the giants were working him into some long counts, then feeding off his weak breaking pitches. he came out kicking ass that inning and had the giants on their heels, swinging at sliders in the dirt, watching fastballs g by for strikes
-
And.... I'm wrong. It was Jesus Alou.
Berkman flies out.
Lee lines out to right.
Gunther flails at something in his eyes, lays off a slider in the dirt, and then connects on a homer to LF!
-
PENCE!!!! with the smackin' over the LF fence!
-
Pence HR! What the hell was Wellemeyer thinking throwing that pitch at 1-2? another high fastball would have had the strikeout
-
Feliz flies out to deep LF for the 3rd out. On to the bottom of the 4th, Giants ahead 4-1.
-
I've always wanted to go to that ballpark. Someday I'll get off my ass and do it.
-
Paulino has struck out 5 of last 6 says Bill Brown, which is now 5 of 7 after the bounceout. Change happened right after arnsbarger visited the mound
-
Downs lines out to Lee in LF.
Wellemeyer strikes out on 5 pitches. It seems to me that Paulino is getting squeezed a bit, but he was so wild in the beginning that that's to be expected.
Rowand up, starts out with 2 balls, then grounds down the 3B line to Feliz, who throws him out.
On to the 5th, Giants leading 4-1.
-

Yeah, he looks a lot more competent now. I guess this is just part of the learning process for young pitchers.
-

he's still a little wild, but it's with 96 mph fastballs aimed in the general area of the corners and sliders aimed at the ankles rather than whatever nibbling shit he was doing earlier. giant hitters seem confused
-
Manzella up, grounds out to Sandoval at 3rd on a full count.
Cash watches a total meatball go by on the first pitch and then pops up on the second.
Paulino hits a squirrely little thing into shallow RCF that falls when the RF loses it in the lights. JD does his Manfred Mann impression of "Blinded by the Light" (Or was that a Mann cover of Spruce? I can't remember who was first.)
Bourn flies out to LF.
Middle of 4th, 4-1 Giants.
-
Thanks for the PBP. Weather has calmed down and I am seeing the game now.
-
the behind the catcher camera angle was on when paulino buzzed molina with that fastball. wow!
-
paulino's lost it again. as soon as runners got on base, paulino started getting wild again. outside slider is the only thing he's able to control now.
-
Torres lines into LCF and stretches it into a double on a close play at 2nd.
Sandoval flies to deep LF and Torres takes 3rd on the catch. Runner on 3rd with 1 out.
Molina works the count full, and then walks on a wild pitch that scores on Torres from 3rd. I thought the Astros got Torres, but blue didn't agree.
Huff strikes out on a nice assortment of fastballs and sliders.
Uribe singles to RF. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.
Schierholtz singles off Berkman's glove on a meatball, Molina scores, Uribe moves to 3rd, Schierholtz stays at 1st. Giants up 6-1, still 2 down.
Another wild pitch scores Uribe, Schierholtz advances to 2nd. Giants up 7-1, still 2 down.
Downs walks, so there are runners on 1st and 2nd. Mills finally brings the hook, Chacin on his way to the mound.
-

Unfortunately, he's lost that, too. That's the pitch that he's started throwing for wild pitches.
-
Paulino is the little girl with the curl.
-
Chacin pitching to Wellemeyer with men on 1st and 2nd, 2 out. He pops out to Kepp in short CF. Giants lead 7-1 after 5.
That's it for me. I've got chores to take care of tomorrow morning, and there's not enough upside apparent in this game to keep me up tonight. Let's hope Roy can give Lincecum a haircut tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks for the pbp Austro and JNH.

Happy to contribute. I don't get to watch the 'Stros much in real time, so have always appreciated y'all's PBP and commentary.

Nice going Clarkie!
