Harang challenged Pujols the beast with 2-2 Harang cheese down the middle, and the predictable happened: ball over CF wall. Harang's replacement, who surely had been watching the game out in the bully, challenged him too. Result: two run dinger! Pujols is 3-4 with two opening day homers.

I thought you were referring to this, from BP's opening day chat:
Kevin Goldstein (11:31:20 AM PT): I actually think the Astros might finish last this year in the NL Central, even behind the Pirates. Check out this opening day lineup.
Bourn CF
Matsui 2B
Pence RF
Lee LF
Blum 1B
Feliz 3B
Towles C
Manzella SS
Oswalt P
Steven Goldman (11:36:42 AM PT): Kevin, if that happens, it will be interesting to see what happens to Ed Wade's reputation. In the wake of the Phillies' recent success, there has been a spate of "Ed got a raw deal/he really built this wonderful team" revisionist coverage.

I'm in the DFW airport at Fuddruckers (after a double cheese burger) so I missed that. But it doesn't surprise me.

Coulda warned me. I'm 30 minutes away and could've delivered something from Twisted Root.

I did not know that. I've got a three hour layover that I've just about gone through playing on the computer and not doing any writing, which I needed and intended to do. I should have known better. It's real Opening Day. I'm just too hyped up.

Last year was awful, yet as bad as they were the Astros still outperformed the genius prognostications of the crack staff at BP by eight games.
The NL Central predictions from the 2009 Prospectus:
Chi 95-67
Mil 83-79
StL 80-82
Cin 79-83
Hou 66-96
Pit 65-97
This Astros team is definitely better than last year's, but at least one BP writer thinks they will finish last? Crazy talk.

In fairness to BP, their PECOTA predictions have them at 79-83 and basically tied for 2nd thru 5th in the division; and their "hit list rankings" have them at 8th in the NL.
Doesn't change the fact that from a commentary standpoint, their love of hating on Ed Wade and the Astros has been combined for a few years now.

Also, the 2008 staff predicted the Astros to finish fourth at 74-88. That prediction was off by 12 1/2 games.

Why would those dumbasses blame Ed Wade for our lineup?

Because they claim he was the only person that would take the job with the "delusion" that the Astros could compete.

i have found over the years delusions can be wonderful. covers up so many mistaKES

I am out of Grandmas...you up to take on any new grandkids? I require a card that makes absolutely no sense, along with a check for $5.00, for every birthday (this is not subject to negotiation)

Somehow I understand this. I must need to go see my shrink again.

Yep. I normally am tempted to type "WTF" to respond to just about all of her posts. This one I got. So my meds must be going off the beam.
