I dunno. Does he rent an apartment or own his own home or condo? If he owns a home or condo did he buy it himself or inherit it? If he inherited it, did he pay tax on it?

When my wife and I were in lawschool, we lived in a really small apartment in greenwich village (near NYU law school). The building next to us was owned by a couple of artists. Their living room had a complete glass ceiling. It was very cool, but also very exposed as we (as well as a whole lot of other people) could see what they were doing pretty much all of the time. As far as I could tell, my neighbors spent most of their time smoking grass and/or passed out on the couch.

WIlton Lopez also got a mention for having the 2nd-best groundball rate among '09 rookies.
I don't know squat about pitching, but I'd be surprised if the league doesn't start to adjust to Gervacio's wacky delivery after a while. I hope I'm wrong though.

Sammy G is unique in that he has been a reliever his whole career. He has a funky delivery and is mostly a FB, slider guy. He will throw a change no and then. I expect he will be an adequate reliever. Not an 8th or 9th inning guy.
It will be interesting to see how players adjust to him. If you look at his minor league stats, (http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/G/Sam-Gervacio.shtml) when he first appeared at a level, he dominated. The next season at the same level all his numbers jumped in a bad way.

he was worse than terrible all year in RR, then pitched pretty well in MLB. go figure.

Inability to throw strikes, or getting hit around when he did? What led to him getting the call up? Were they seeing flashes of improvement, something to indicate the trouble in RR wouldn't follow him?

he needed a GPS to locate the strike zone. i saw no improvement all year until MLB.

It was bizarre. He would come into the RR games and it was just agonizing to watch him pitch. He was just about the last guy I thought they would call up, and then when he got the call he did well.

Call up was based on Hooton's recommendation is what I remember.

I am going to ask Hooton for stock market tips and lotto numbers.
Gervacio pitched in the Astro ST game I saw last year. I think he walked the only three guys he faced, was nowhere near the strike zone.
