You ever wait 4 months to see one of your favorite bands of all fucking time? And then when you get there, they play a bunch of songs you like, sure, and you sing along and sway and you enjoy yourself? And then, during the encore, when they don't play your favorite fucking song of all time and their biggest hit, you decide you want your fucking money back?
Fucking Pixies.

were you holding up your lighter?

We don't do that anymore. We hold up our Blackberrys.
And yes.

Look, I like Trompe le Monde like anyone but did you miss the fact that this is a Doolittle anniversary tour? I took that to mean that they are playing songs from Doolittle.
I'm going to see my favorite band, not of all time but currently, twice in the next five days or so. It is also an anniversary tour, 20th, too, one of the founding of the band though. If the set list is anything like the last one I saw (earlier on the same tour) then they will indeed not play my favorite song either. And that's just fine with me.

Right. And they played Doolittle all the way through, which is what I went to see AS WELL AS, since I was 13 the first they toured, to hear them play my favorite song ONCE live. It's not like I've seen them a thousand times and, oh boo hoo, they didn't play my song this time. When Surfer Rosa came out, I was 11. When I was in college and going to shows every night, they were broken up. If I had seen them a dozen times, yeah, who cares. If I had seen them before, I'd rather they just played new stuff I never heard before.

Cafe Tacuba's gooder'n hell, but since this is an anniversary tour the set's heavier on the older stuff and lighter on the newer stuff that I favor.
I'm now wondering what Alkie's favorite song is. If it's not on Doolittle then he's stranger than I'd realized.
