Thru 5 and AZ isn't kicking the 'Stros butts by a dozen (yet)...
Update: Middle 6: HOU 1, ARI 1
-
And with that, Justin Upton HRs to center with none out in the B6 to make it 2-1 ARI. I'll shut up and listen now...
-
Chula Vista wins the LL world series. 6-3 over ROC
-
Wow, Blum PHing for Maysonet.
-
Blum in to pinch hit for Maysonet with the bases loaded and 1 out in the T7 (HOU still trailing by 1).
-
I can see that Blum might have a veteran's eye in a tight AB, but he's got to be stony cold. Didn't he fly in this morning?
-

What's the use of being player-coach if you can't call your own number here and again...
-
Oh well. Popup to shallow LF brings Erstad up.
-
Blpfffft.
-
Well crap. Middle 7, HOU down a run still.

Chacon: "[Houston is] somewhere in previous years I’d never really wanted to play. Not the city itself, just the organization itself. I’d never really heard good things about it." (ETA LINK (http://www.sacbee.com/sports/story/2148447.html?mi_rss=Sports)).

You're really trying to spread the word, eh?
I assume that Chacon was referring to the well-known institutional racism of the Houston Astros.
-
Chacon can go fuck himself.
-
Jesus. Coop is pulling levers like some demented Wizard of Oz.

That there's what I was looking fer...

Glad I could help.

Justice: "Bagwell should be Astros next manager" LINK (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/justice/6593272.html)
Oh yeah, and ARI scores a couple of more in the B7 to make the lead 4-1.
-
Back-to-back singles by Michaels and BG's 'sweet baby Bourn' put runners on the corners with none out in T8.
And elsewhere in the 'there is still hope department' Rogers says Coop is one of a couple of managers on the hot-seat: LINK (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-090829-rogers-whispers,0,4480927.story)
"The Reds need a strong finish to end talk about Dusty Baker walking the managerial plank. Other managers in limbo are the Indians' Eric Wedge, Nationals' Jim Riggleman, Astros' Cecil Cooper and Orioles' Dave Trembley." ...
-
Good work by Bourn and Kepp.
-
RHP Juan Guitierrez in to pitch for Haren. SBB steals 2B.
-
Carlos breaks his 0-for-14 streak.
-
Consecutive groundouts to 2B by Kepp and Berkman score Michaels and Bourn. HOU trails 4-3 and Carlos is on single to left.
-
Pitching change: Qualls in to face Spaz with 2 out, runner on 1B in T8.
-
Gameday claims El Caballo stole 2B. Gotta be a software glitch.
-
And goes to 3B on a wild pitch.
-
Gameday shows a Spaz strike out swinging on a slider low and away. Software glitch obviously fixed now...
Middle 8: HOU 3, ARI 4

Middle 8: HOU 3, ARI 4
Pence swung at a caricature of a low-and-away slider- after earlier taking two pitches right down the middle.
And yes, Lee indeed stole 2nd-without a throw, and right after Qualls had tried to pick him off.
-
Mets 4, Cubs 1, Zambrano with the loss at home. Ah hahahahahahahaaaa. Fuck the Cubs!
-
Valverde in for B8, Michaels stays in to play LF. Side retired in order (K, groundout to SS, K).
On to T9. Good time for the Good Guys to come up with a couple-o-runs!
-
Kaz grounds out, but Blum is on 1B after HBP. 1 out T9.
And in the Astros PTBNL watch (via Pudge trade if TEX makes playoffs): Rangers 2nd in ALW, trail LAA by 5; 2nd in WC race, trail BOS by 3.5.

Let's go, Coste!
-
doublefuck. astros lose, qualls hurt.
-
Crap, Michaels hit a liner up the middle that Qualls deflected, Drew threw Michaels out at first. Qualls twisted his knee when he jumped and it doesn't look good, they're helping him off the field. Damn shame that Qualls got hurt on that play.
-
Shit. Tough break for Michaels on that one. Good effort by the hitters to try to rally late.
-

Gameday had it P to SS to 1B for the out. Couldn't figure that one out until the explanation. That sucks for Qualls...

FSN tweeting that 'Art' will be on the postgame. Presuming that's Howe, would appreciate y'all passing along his comments on the Tejada tipping off pitches 'story' if he discusses it.
-
Thanks for the PBP, OSF.

No mention yet, so far just the wrapup.

You could always go over to AD and start a fire just to get the ants to run around.

The ball was absolutely a single to center until it went off Qualls' glove (protecting his head) and then Drew made a great play to scoop it and nail Michaels at 1st. Of course, with Blum hobbled he was not likely to mae it to 3rd, and it may have taken two more singles to score him from 2nd...

So my posts have gotten that bad, eh?
Then again, if I really want to watch ants scurry around that bad I can always walk to Pioneer Square in downtown Portland with a Bush-Cheney hat on...
Actually curious if he had any comments on the subject since he was Tejada's mgr in '01.

No, I didn't think your posts have gotten that bad, it just seemed like the kind of dumb non-story that they'd chew on incessantly.
No comments yet. I doubt they'll address it. They've pretty much finished the Astros part and now they're back to the studio for scores.
-
Nope, no mention of it.

Thank goodness... it seemed like a classic ACL when it happened.
