It looks like there is alot of foul territory behind home plate in the MetroDome.
-
Michael sure looked safe on that steal attempt. Late to the party.
-
Awesome Roy. Walk the guy before Mauer after going 1-2 on him...
-
Nice, Roy/Mig.
-
Question:
If Mauer is hitting so well, why is he in the 2-hole? Why not move him to 3 or 4 where he would get more RBI chances.
Just curious.
*Disclaimer--Actually asking serious question to learn more about the way lineups are configured. In no way am I asking to get flamed. Thank you.

I thought we were going to get the Oswalt Inning (tm) in the first inning and get it out of the way.

I thought he had been hitting in the 3-hole (with Morneau behind him). Maybe they've had to juggle things because of injuries?

Puma being Puma.

Puma being Puma.
Pudge was 0-2, so if Puma was caught Pudge would get a fresh start in the next inning.
-
Nice to see Erstad get some solid wood on the ball the last couple of days!
-
And nice to see Bourn continue to grow at the plate.
-
Slick tag 'em out, throw 'em out DP there by Miggy after the deflection by Roy!

That was Matsui. Got a break there with a dumb baserunner.
-
really nice dp's tonight

JD commenting on getting to 'peel back' the number of days remaining for the Twins in the Metrodome before(?) the 6th inning to '44' remaining (incidentally, the number JD wore when he played with the Twins), JD notes:
I don't know, I'm kind of nervous. I mean I haven't warmed up, I haven't practiced this. What if I mess up and pull it back to 19 or something. "Of course it wouldn't be the first time I've been booed in this ballpark"... "I'm presuming a rousing round of indifference [from the fans]".
-
That was Matsui.
Brainfart...
-
Nice movement on Roy's pitching tonight. Mississippi looks like he's on.

American League. In the National League, Mauer would have RBI opportunities only if the #8, #9 and leadoff hitters were good to great OBP guys. That's not going to happen. In the American League, it makes sense given that you have a DH to go ahead and use some of your better OBP at the bottom of the lineup. Go ahead and stack the lineup from 1 through 6, have 7, 8 and 9 be your OBP guys. You score more runs.
That is the American League for you. (BTW - this is why I think Cooper switched the lineup and dropped Pence down, he wants some more run scoring opportunities to present themselves rather than just append a hitter into the National League enabled lineup. And also another reason that interleague games suck!)

Did you just do what I think you just did? Limey! (Folks will never learn)

The higher camera angle really shows off his stuff. It's giving me fits judging the strike zone though.

"I can delete it, if I've committed yet another cardinal sin," he said, as he wiped the drool from his chest.

Just wait and see if damage was done the next inning. You're going to help others if there is some serious damage. If not, then the BBGs hate interleague play as much as the rest of the civilized world and you're safe.
-
Noted. You can add, "Muted," to that, as well, chief.

Watch and learn.

Your Astros game is in my American League.
Your American League is in my Astros game.
Two great tastes that bore me to tears together.
Why does this still exist? Who wouldn't rather see us play an extra series against the Cubs or Cards or Mets or Dodgers?
-
BBG's teach the basketball boy a lesson. And I'm off to the spRockets board to fuck up their off-season moves next.

They don't need your help.
-
Mauer's spot in the lineup may be American Leagueish, but this game is a classic National League affair. I like it.
-
Los Twinkies play defense. Go figure. Plus the guys that should be doing better with OBP at the bottom are too much of free swingers. Gardenhire is complaining about them, especially Gomez.
-
Horns tie it up. 1-1 for those who care.
-
aww, come on, blue!
-
Safe.
And where is Coop?

Sitting on the bench wondering why Blum wasn't out there arguing the call...

All of the sudden I feel like a Whataburger.

Totally non-related question, but can you take a dog to Stewart Beach in Galveston?

Boy you're right. That has absolutely nothing to do with Whataburger. I think you can, as long as the dog is on a leash

KEPP!

Yes, but you can't make him drink.

I'm about 12 hours from hauling this dog to Galveston because my wife told my 3-year old daughter that we could. Girls in general are known for their rational responses when denied something they want. Those of the 3-year old variety even more so.

Hold up there.
You have a daughter?

Lance just cannot catch a break.
-
Why is Michaels in left? What happened to Erstad?

Nor Michaels a ball...

How the is that not one big huge fat FUCKING error on Michaels?

Since the Astros played in the World Series. In fact that's how I remember her birthday. She was born about 7 hours after the HA meeting at Roeders.
-

Twins brought in a lefty reliever, so Coop brought in a right handed batter (who proceeded to K).
-

Because then the batter wouldn't get 2 RBIs. Duh...
JD was saying it was because it was lost in the two big banks of lights which make those plays difficult on LFs and RFs. Total BS. Hopefully the 'Stros will lobby to get that one changed.

I leave the site for 18 months and shit happens retroactively. I swear.

It still should should be an error, whether he lost it in the lights or the grease from his stringing hair dripped down into his eyes. That's a play that should be made, and it wasn't. It's an error.

You think that's bad, wait till you find out Waldo is a grandfather.
