Koby with 6 RBI's, Locke with 5. Another fine outing by Dydalywicz. Very quitely TJ Steele is putting up great numbers in Lancaster. I remember Bagwell mentioning him specifically as someone that caught his eye this spring. That stamped him for me as someone to watch. With he and Schuck both going to CC next year, it looks more and more like Flores is on a short leash. Steele was described as a true 5-tool type outfielder. His main problem has been his health. He lost significant time last summer and already this spring.

There is going to be a great deal of pushing coming from the bottom half of the system next year.

There certainly weren't any big performances in Round Rock last night. Was anybody else at the game? What a mess. Abercrombie and Towles, in particular, seemed like they wanted to be somewhere else. A pitch in the dirt bounced off of Towles' shin-guard, and he leisurely strolled over to it while a runner moved from 2nd to 3rd. Abercrombie unlaunched a horrible throw to the (general area of the) plate, which Saccomano couldn't cut, Towles missed it, Johnson (Jeremy, the pitcher backing up) missed it, and then both Towles and Johnson both ran after it and Saccomano didn't cover the plate, so the runner from 3rd jogged home to an uncovered plate. Johnson (Chris, the 3b) missed a hard-hit ground ball hit right at him; he pretty much ole'd it and somehow didn't get an error. Abercrombie took a horrible route to a ball in right center and wound up watching it over his head. Bogusevic took a step in on another liner in left and then had his "oh shit!" moment and went running after it as it went over his head. Johnson (the pitcher) got knocked around badly. And the game took forever.
The only good things I remember: in the 1st inning, Bogusevic (facing a lefty) stayed inside on a fastball and hit a sharp ground-ball single between short and 3rd. And Chris Johnson hit a homer. Ramirez made a really nice effort on a long drive to left center and wound up crashing into the wall Andruw Jones-style. Unfortunately, he didn't make the catch, but he didn't appear to be hurt.
It doesn't look to me like there's anybody in Round Rock who will impede the progress of fast risers in the lower levels, at least among position players.

Nice performance by Norris last night (Saturday): 8 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 10 K. Fastball was consistently 93-95 according to the Dell gun. Worked his way out of a jam created by Bogusevic misplaying another ball that put a leadoff runner on 2nd. Game was scoreless through 10, and then apparently all hell broke loose in the 1th (we had to leave after 9). New Orleans loaded the bases on Geary in the 10th, but he escaped. Then in the 11th he gave up 4 runs (all earned, I think). In the bottom of the 11th, Round Rock scored 5, with the last run scoring when Manzella hit into what should have been an inning-ending, bases-loaded 1-2-3 double play but New Orleans couldn't make the play at 1st.

No, I think there was an intentional walk in there to load the bases. Game was tied and bases were loaded when Manzella came up to bat.
