Carlos Lee of the Houston Astros has been named Bank of America Presents the National League Player of the Week for August 4-10, 2008.

Given the subject line, I thought you were referring to this gem: Carlos Lee's friends lift him in difficult time (http://blogs.chron.com/baseballblog/archives/2008/08/carlos_lees_fri.html)
I was quite shocked, however, that Drayton McLane had not called him as of 8 p.m. Saturday night.
"What did Drayton tell you," I asked.
"He hasn't called," Lee said.
Maybe McLane has been very busy lately, but I'm shocked that he hasn't called Lee. Lee has been carrying McLane's ballclub for almost two months, and you would think he would have deserved a call from McLane by now.
McLane forgets that players talk, and his silence with Lee so far will be heard quite loudly, if you get my drift.

Do you ever get the idea that JdJO may have been the kind of idiot child who ran around poking hornets' nests?

It gets worse, Ortiz is now blogging from the pre-surgery room at the hospital.

Back of the envelope cypher'n, game started at 6:10 CT, it was a little after 7 by the 3rd inning. The complaint is that Mclane hadn't called him by 8? I've read elsewhere specifically that Mclane has talked to Cooper and to Wade about Lee.

Don't count Ortiz out! He still needs to mention the impending staph infection and how Lee's career may be over!

You've been Cabrera'd twice in the same thread. Is that a record or do you need to go for three?

This has probably already been posted somewhere, but in the interest of historical accuracy, it was Lee May's brother (http://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Carlos_May) who was thumb-less.
