The Statesman listings this morning didn't show a channel for the Astros-Reds game, although it gave channels for the Rangers and whatever ESPN game is on. I just chalked that up to the usual editorial process over there, but I'm not seeing anything on the Time-Warner site, either. Are we really getting blacked out?

I usually check Channel 77 either way and it magically appears there even if the listing did not have the game on. I've been surprised quite often how many times Astros games were on 77 even though I didn't expect them to be there.

Unfortunately, they've got the Rangers listed for 77. 54 has some high-school all-star basketball game. Maybe it will show up on 12.

Anyone else in Austin getting poor sound quality during Astros broadcasts on Ch. 54?

Yes. Off and on on Saturday's game. Annoyingah.

I was watching on 1639, and the sound seemed ok there. But I have to confess that Saturday's game didn't have my full attention.

Checked my DVR this morning and could not find a listing for the game either (Time Warner in San Antonio). FSN shows something else scheduled and channel 50 (where they show My20 games) is TBA. Didn't Time Warner get the email about the playoff run?

I think the Astros have preempted the Rangers (as it should be) on 77 a couple of times this year. Maybe we'll get lucky tonight.

FWIW, it's showing up on the DirecTV guide in Austin, standard and HD.

WTF was with DirecTV suddenly rearranging the channels? All the sudden I have to go find Ch. 678 for the game.

That was fucking baffling. For a few minutes that first game after the shuffle, I thought that FSN Houston had just ceased to exist.

Sometimes it shows up on 1639 when nothing is listed, so maybe we'll get lucky there.

Speaking of the Reds, unless I missed this somewhere, I had no idea Griffey wanted Brantley dead!
For those who read Ken Griffey Jr.'s lips after his home run Saturday night and saw him make the throat-cutting gesture at home plate, the antics were aimed at broadcaster Jeff Brantley.
Griffey is angry over different comments Brantley made and said one of them was, "He said I'm pouting because the Reds haven't picked up my option ($16 million) for next year. If I was that concerned about money I wouldn't have come here in the first place."

Looks like Rangers fans got the shaft; Astros are on 77.

no luck here in Waco tonight. So it's on in Austin?

Yes. T-W is occasionally running a scroll across the bottom saying that the Rangers' game is "not available", so they're showing the Astros as an alternate. It's pretty depressing to think that the Astros are considered second fiddle to the Rangers.

The Astros game has been shown several times instead of the stRangers. Maybe someone at TWC finally figured out that Austin is more of an Astros town.

Sweet. For a moment there, I thought Austin had become an affiliate of Vince Young's new team, the Nashville Sounds.
