He is happy to be out of Houston (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/02/22/ST2008022203379.html):
"I never knew what was going on," Scott said in the Baltimore Orioles' clubhouse earlier this week. "I was always in the dark."
Indeed, after nearly four years of frustration in the Astros organization, Scott believes he finally has a fair shot at becoming an everyday outfielder with what he regards as a fresh start with the Orioles.
"From Day One, they've been honest with me, the front office and the manager, has been up-front," Scott said. "Everything's been on the table. It's just refreshing to have that."
"When you feel you have your manager and your general manager behind you, as well as your teammates, it helps. It really does help. To tell you the truth I don't know how to act. This is foreign territory for me."
-
There were many games when I couldn't figure out why he was benched in favor of an outfielder hitting .160. I doubt that will be the case in the AL. I certainly wish him well and good luck.

Luke Scoot is a whiny "me first" guy. boo hoo, Luke.

Of course, the Orioles have been known as such an enlightened and forward-thinking organization over the last twenty years or so (the Angelos years.)
I can't wait to hear Scott's "take" on Baltimore once they trade him away.

Alrighty then, that pretty much throws everyone under the bus. Any wonder they tried to get rid of him for two years running? Coach is right, Scott was a "me first" guy and not a good teammate. When in Round Rock, Jackie Moore had to talk to him more than once about his attitude and how he was basically not being a part of the team.

Luke is an idiot.

Baltimore should have plenty of OFs hitting .160 to take his place.

Livin' in a powder keg and givin' off sparks!

Can't or wont? Because the Astros explained it a number of times. Lane is a better fielder, especially in center, and Scott was injured most of the time.

Good riddance.

The injury point is solid, but the difference in fielding ability was outweighed by Scott's offensive production. Lane should have only a late inning defensive replacement.

The Astros thought otherwise.

B urzmali is Scott's sister

AVG .255 | HR 18 | RBI 64 | OBP .351 | SLG .504
Who's numbers are these? Lane's when he played more than Scott or Scott's when he played more than Lane?

Couldn't have said it better myself. This "in the dark" shit coming from a player gets me. A player should always be ready to go. Players have no right to give management input as to who should play or to get a headsup from management about playing. I'm glad we moved him. As a fourth OF'er this season, he'd have been a cancer in the clubhouse.

Good riddance.
Sums it up for me pretty well..

Happy trails, Skypointer.

It's a shame the Astros held Luke back. If they would have allowed him the opportunity to shine, they could have gotten more in return for him in a trade.
-
Always thought of Luke as a really good AAAA player. So-so in the actual bigs. He seemed to fall into that over-rated for being perceived as under-rated category. (if that makes any sense)
-
Luke should be thankful to the Astros for obtaining him from the Tribe where he would have rotted in their system and giving him a chance to play at the major league level.

How did the Astros hold Scott back? Do many teams spend a lot of time showcasing players so they can get more for them in trade?

I'm just trying to see things from Luke's silly POV.

Sorry.

Good thing he's in an organization that's well-known for its focused and organized front office.

With a supportive owner who's second to none.

Luke could learn a little from Lamb...
No hard feelings: Though he enjoyed the last four years in Houston, new Twins third baseman Mike Lamb doesn't hold any ill will towards the Astros for letting him go. *** "When a new GM comes on he wants to bring in his own guys," Lamb said. "I understand that, the same thing happened when I was with Texas [in 2003]. It's part of the game." -Jim Molony, MLB.com

Lamb is a consummate professional, and he will be missed here.

I will always be a Mike Lamb fan. I hope he shines in Minnesota.

I will have more than just a passing interest in the Twins this year for a couple of obvious reasons, I even selected "Twins" as my son's baseball team name.

Lamb is a true gentleman. I wish him the best. He is an Astro.
