I'm not quite sure which metaphor is more appropriate BUT, and while I haven't been able to confirm this 100% through a doctor's visit because I'm in Louisiana on work this week but two OTC tests have told me that... my husband and I are now expecting!
Best guess is that this is the result of celebration following picking up my CPA certificate in Austin around the beginning of the month, which puts the arrival date roughly around the beginning of August (best time to give birth, middle of a blazing hot Houston summer).
Anyhow, just wanted to share the good news with y'all :)

You and Jamie Lynn Spears...congratulations!

Sweet. An additional Louisiana link. Thanks!

Congrats! Perhaps the first time in recorded history something good has come from being fucked by a CPA.

I just got some really cool news about one of my kids today, too. But I don't want to steal your spot light with that, but it reminds me:
They truly impact your lives in ways you never expect!

Hah. Hm. Does MM not have any spawn?
Thanks, all!
Froback, by all means let us know -- I'm not a spotlight hog.

I'm not quite sure which metaphor is more appropriate ...
When corrected to "In the Hole", the second metaphor seems pretty much right.
Congrats!

Congrats Holly! And like Lurch said, it's "in the hole"
Where did "in the hold" come from? I thought that was a nautical term.

Congrats Holly. My wife and I just found we are expecting too. August 21st. Our second. Our first was born August 26th back in '05, and the blazing hot Texas summer is overrated. You're inside almost the whole time.
-
Congrats, and way to keep the fan base growing.
-
...have you broken the news to your weiner?
Nahh... too easy.
Congrats...
-
Congrats, Holly!
You'll have to invite me over to watch the All-Star game in about 10 years and have the kid serve as the attendant. My 10-year-old kid who did that is now 17.

Congrats! the sleep warning is for Mr. Holly too; you will want him rested when you get home with the new bundle of joy.

Congrats! Kids are great! they keep you young and humble!

Woohoo! Summer birthdays rule! You'll always be able to take him/her down to the ballpark for the birthday.

This is true. While I forget most of my birthdays, I distinctly remember the one right before I moved to Austin. I called a couple of my friends and we went down to the Dome to take in a game in the RF pavilion. The Good Guys clubbed the hell out of LA, and Bagwell had the first 3 HR game of his career, one of which sailed directly over us. A decade later, I was celebrating an otherwise unmemorable b-day when I found out that Dotel and Buck had been traded for Beltran.

Holly,
Awesome news. I still remember the day I found out for the first time I was going to be a Dad. Wife had to wake me up in the morning to the results of a home pregnancy test. I didn't do so well in the reaction because I was on a ten second delay with the excitement (groggy from still being half asleep).
My poor wife didn't get a chance to hear the full power of my "Woo-Hoo!" face to face. She left the room in that ten second span thinking perhaps many things about me that I probably could not print even in this place.
All was fixed by end of day though as she knew full well how much this was the best day of my life and something I wouldn't trade for all the riches in the world. Congrats!
