So long, Ike.  I'd forgotten about you until Letterman came up with a reference to your snoring in a TOP 10 List he did on James Brown's imprisonment a decade or more back....probably a LOT more back than that, now that I think about it.

Maybe not a nice man but Ike & Tina's version of Rolling on the River is my all time favorite.

[Bass voice] And we're roll -lin, roll-lin, rollin on the river. roll-lin on the riv- er [end bass voice, cue screaming brass]

I believe the song is called "Proud Mary", but you're right. Ike & Tina's cover of the song is legendary.
