If you're not watching the game... get it on, pronto.
Matt B is lookin' good.
-
Perfect though five. As in no hits, no walks, no HBPs, etc. Perfect.
Perfect, I say!!
That ought to do it.
-
How good? is it a no-no? matty a no-hitter that would be unfreakin belivable!
-
Do NOT jinx him
-
Based on what I've read here I like to see him do well. Maybe not THIS well, though my ability to influence baseball games happening a thousand miles away is, not surprisingly, very limited. But I'll shut up just in case.
-
Wait til the Raups get ahold of you, man.

Too late.

Too late.
It was hard not to say anything.

I don't think this was me. He pitched another perfect inning after I posted. Maybe it was somebody over at AstrosDaily, but I refuse to go check.

It was done as sone as it was mentioned. He pitched well, though. I'd just as soon his perfect game not come against the Astros.
-
As mentioned, always happy to see him do well. I agree with this statement, though.

Now they have to bring in Majewski from St Pius. This is a lot of conflicts for an Astros' game.

That was a monumentally stupid throw by Ty.

And a really great rundown by Lamb.

Best. Astro. Rundown. Ever.
Cheers to you, Mike Lamb.

I guess the runner stands there to let the other runners move up. If he knew he was caught, it seems like the smart thing to do.

My only quibble with the runner is that he should have broken for home to force Lamb to make an effective throw to Towles. Otherwise, Lamb's movement was textbook.

Lamb sometimes trips over himself, but I think that, sans Bagwell, he has the quickest baseball brain on the club. I don't think I've ever seen him have a brain fart.
ETA: Maybe Ausmus deserves a mention, he is Ivy League after all.

I thought that at first, but I'm not so sure he should have broken. Weren't there 2 other runners? If he breaks, then he's almost certainly out, and the other runners can't advance. If he stands there and makes Lamb hold the ball and run across the infield, then both runners have a chance to advance.

I have hear people say they wont watch a baseball game on tv because it gets boring. You just gave an excellent example of how much is really going on during every play.
