On Biggio's toughness/Pigpen-ness:
"He sweats dirt"
"He chews nails"
then, while Brown fumbles to contribute,
"He eats...cactus for dessert."

Suddenly, after Hart's great catch to rob Berkman:
"he looks like a big Eric Bruntlett."

This would have been a nice little inning if Lee had exhibited the least bit of baserunning sense.

And I can't wait for the day when our centerfielders start robbing the other team.

What possible reason could they have to let him stay in there?

A couple of reasons.  One, he apparently wasn't hurt and two, he often provides entertainment out there.  Not all plays are an adventure, but quite a few are. 

Now that I know he is OK, I can laugh about it, but he has some learning to do.

Heard on the radio pre-game tonight that he had to almost beg Coop to let him stay in there. "I'm okay, coach, just had the wind knocked out of me. Really." Dave Raymond said he was "stiff as a board" this morning when they chatted in the clubhouse.
