Title: Ryan-Sanders
Post by: juliogotay on August 28, 2007, 05:44:09 pm
If Drayton was willing to sell, I wonder if the Nolan-Sanders group has the juice to buy the Astros or if they would even have any interest. Thoughts?

Great minds think alike.  I was just thinking the very same thing.

wait and see

Is that a "not in your lifetime" wait and see, or a "where there's smoke there's fire" wait and see?

I've been wondering about this too, but I know nothing about Ryan's situation.

Reid Ryan would be a great Team President and rumor has it that they (Ryan-Sanders) are very interested in being major league owners.

The latter.  A very reliable person with keen insight on the workings in the back room of this group told me that something exciting on that front may happen as soon as next year.  That is all he could share with me at the time.

I am very impressed how hard Reid Ryan works on the operations front.  He is destined to run a major league organization one day.  Hopefully soon.

It won't be because they're not trying, that is as much as I understand.

I can't speak for their "juice," but I can tell you from personal experience that they are the classiest group of baseball folks that I have ever had the privilege to encounter.

Then "the Juice" as there is a lot of Juice lying about these days, should be easy to find.

Remember that with the CC team investors include Clemens and I think a couple more Astros/former Astros. Biggio and Pettitte perhaps.

Just one problem... why is Drayton acting like the second coming of Caligula if he's planning to walk away from the team?

Put that Caligula reference together with the Pam Gardner influence and it raises questions, no?

Kent owns a part of the Round Rock organization.  I don't think they own the Hooks too, but I could be wrong.

Now there's an owner I would like to see roaming the stands asking for opinions.
