Thank you. Thank you. You know, I never thought of myself as having "unanimous" stuff. One just tries to put themselves in a position to impact a thread, and then try to do the best they can with the opportunity. I was fortunate this week to visit the board, get an uncommonly fat pitch and then turn on it.

Yea, it has been a long road to this honor. It would be folly to suggest that behind every Stubing is a collection of people, inspirations and experiences that made it possible, but in this instance it has certainly been the case. I would first like to thank the gay and lesbian community, without whose unusual characteristics this thread would not have been possible. Ditto for the inflatable sex toy industry. I also need to recognize as many of those entities I can remember who truly laid the foundation for this shining moment: the Eighth Wonder of the World; Milo Hamilton; DampRid; Blazing Saddles; the Caray broadcasting family; Tom Cruise; Tom Berenger; the 72-90 season; Moises Alou’s treadmill; Bill Worrell; Gene Elston’s handlers; Rob Matwick; east Texas; Walt Weiss; the Irish people; Pizza Crust Andy; Henry V; Tommy Grand; adjectives; free bandwidth; Blackbeard; Orbit; John Forsythe; Iron Chef; Scott’s stomach; Tony Eusebio, Gordy Pladson and Charlie Kerfeld; Amber Curtain LLP; the Dickie Thon Fan Club; the Alcor Life Extension Foundation; IBM servers; cats that piss in the Astrodome; Ed Ott; the MLB umpires union; the various pieces of Doug Brocail; Morrison Forester and MLB Advanced Media; the State of Louisiana; Sterling Sharpe's tailor; General Admission; central Florida; Dante Bichette; the blaxploitation film genre; Bob Scanlan; Timah Redding; Jimah Williams; Schlitz beer; Sheriff Blaylock; Hot Smokey; Texas Smokey; the New York Mets; Leo Mazzone; Angelina Jolie; GOLDENPALACE.com; VH1; Burt Hooton’s laserbeam stare, the General Lee; the original TZ Legends; and all the other friends, co-conspirators, minor celebrities and total bastards encountered on the Internet over the last ten years. And of course my corporate sponsors, Hormel and Edelbrock. Oh wait, I almost forgot – Chad Lowe.

Thanks especially to the voting members of the OWA for the recognition. I will say again that your efforts as admins, contributors, benefactors, and assholes make my heart swell with pride. Upon retirement, Scott and I hoped that the right brand of belligerent misanthropes would carry the torch into the 21st century, and it is with this tribe that the oft misunderstood spirit of the original breathes still. And a foul breath it continues to be. As we realize that next year the OWA will have been in existence longer than the BFT was, certainly you culchie fookers have exceeded our greatest hopes and expectations in this regard.

I will treasure the Stubing (where the hell is it?) evermore, and dutifully ask that the OWA remove me from future POTWA consideration. I have come to understand the value of quitting while you’re ahead, and I'm all out of lesbian stories. Thank you and good night.

...I have come to understand the value of quitting while you’re ahead, ...

Present evidence to the contrary.

Kind of sad to see the orchestra cut El Jefe off.

Sorry I missed the vote.  I've been away all week and I just got my laptop back from Michael Moore.

Did I miss anything else?

Doesn't Texas law require that we prominently display our blue stars beneath our names?

Expect JdJO to pick up on the situational manager aspect any day now....his bloggers, too.

EDIT:  Or will the Pinwheel outbid him for the rights to wax pathetically about it?

Here is my Wesley Willis song to celebrate your victory

Jefe, you post on the board
Your posts can really whup a cheetah's ass
People are really entertained by your posts

refrain
EL JEFFFFFFFE, EL JEFFFFFFEEEEE
EL JEFFFFFFFE, EL JEFFFFFFEEEEE

You had a vision
The vision involved the Astros World Series
It was predicted with success

Rock over London
Rock on Chicago.
DampRid, is America's favorite ketchup.
