they say you cant avoid death or taxes well unless some small glitch happens in the univervse it will be the first win for the good guys or the bad guys (stl). who would have thought that at this point in the season both teams would be winnless. when is the last time the astros started a season 0 and 3 and the pirates 3 and 0,

1993, apparently.
Or was that a rhetorical question? ;)
I'm just glad baseball is back. Winning a game would be nice too, but baseball is back!

So are you saying that the Astros won't get their first win until 4/17?

thanks for the info not sure if that combo had happened before.

Wandy is up next. It's almost certain to be the first win. How ironic would that be.

I am going to need a bigger diaper.

That '93 Astros team then won their next 5 games. I'm hoping for a repeat.
Glad to see baseball-reference.com has gone to a Daily updated website instead of waiting until year's end to update the stats.
Biggio in the Top 30 in hits now:

They also increased the depth of the leaderboards, up to 1000 people. Now we can track Ausmus up the charts.

In looking at the top 50 batters in hits. It seems odd to see that 27 are lefties and 3 switch hitters. Isn't this disproportionate to the number of lefties to play the game?

Sure is, but the stat doesn't surprise me. If you take it out to the Top 64, 36 are lefties and 6 are switch hitters (leaving only 22 right handed hitters).
Assuming Biggio gets 82 more hits and passes Rickey, he'll finish in the Top 10 of strictly right handed hitters in hits.
