Note Jake is in LF. Hinch says LF big enough here to warrant him there over CF.

I would say that I hope the HPU give Fiers the same zone that Shoemaker received during the Reddick AB, but it's wildly optimistic to assume fiers will be able to locate the ball down and away.

Somebody else said this earlier, but I think Reddick must have pissed off the umpires union somehow. He routinely gets shitty calls, even when the HPU is have an otherwise steady game.

In 2000, Jose Lima allowed 48 HRs in 196 IP. Thus far in 2017, Fiers has served up 13 HRs in 25 innings, a scorching pace that would yield a hair under 102 HRs over 196 innings.

In 2001, Lima allowed 12 HRs in 53 innings before the Astros cut bait. Fiers's current HR/IP pace is more than 2x Lima's from that season.

I'm happy with that overturn, but maybe we want to recalibrate our decision model for running on this catcher.

It takes a special pitcher to let Yunel Escobar homer twice in one game.

I'm going to substitute habaneros for jalapeños because it just wasn't nearly hot enough for me. I'll also substitute dried piquín chiles for the arbols. And I might skip the second five minute reduction and certainly boil the carrots for less time.

You must like your carrots extra crunchy. Although since this is my first batch, it's hard to say what adjustments I'll want.

From Wikipedia: "there are nine 300-game winners—Grover Cleveland Alexander, Kid Nichols, Lefty Grove, Early Wynn, Steve Carlton, Don Sutton, Greg Maddux, Roger Clemens and Tom Glavine—who failed to pitch a no-hitter."
