Under normal circumstances, you'd expect Coste to go to 3B and Berkman to 2B with one out and a play at the plate. That means that even if they throw Pudge out, you should get two runs on the single by Matsui. Maybe with Berkman being gimpy like that, I can see the logic on his hit. I actually know the difference now.
A balcony is a thin outdoor space. So like, it might be 60 by 4 (which his is), but it's still a balcony because it's only 4 feet of space outward.
A terrace is a larger flat, more open space, like a rooftop. We have a wraparound deal where it's what would-be a balcony on one side, but the other side is a 12x40 open space.
Turns out the major difference in NY is....I can have a grill legally on a terrace, not on a balcony.
