Bashing continues, Giants 14-3

The Giants figured out Wandy Rodriguez faster than they figured out Medicare D.  A first inning barrage of 6 singles and 2 walks scored 5 runs.  The Astros back filled in the bottom of the 1st with a 2 run homer by Ensberg.  That was the last time this looked like a ball game.

There was some excitement in the second, Everett made his first error on a grounder that took a last second bounce into his chest.

Bases loaded sac fly, bases loaded squibbler, 8-2; in the 4th, Taveras drops a high fly from Matheny because he took his eye off the ball as he ran towards the visitors bullpen.  With the bases loaded and two outs, Vizquel hit a high fly into the gap in right center.  Taveras ran a long way to get under it but the ball bounced out of his glove, what say we just call it a 3 run triple.  Rodriguez left at some point in this inning.  All 5 runs in the 4th were unearned.

And so the game progressed in this fashion for some time.  Springer got tossed after being warned for pitching inside and then hitting Bonds, Garner followed because of the warning.  Wright made a half assed attempt to retaliate on Biggio.  Bidge didn?t feel like getting hit today and backed out.

The Astros are a quarter done with the 2006 Championship Season, tomorrow, Fernando Nieve vs Matt Morris, 7:05.
