There was a ten year old sitting behind me at the game yesterday who remarked, "Gomez does a lot better when he doesn't swing so hard that he falls down." Smart kid.

A's score on a broken bat single to left and now lead 1-0 with 1 out and a runner on 2nd in top 6.

Astros fail for the second time to drive in Marwin after Altuve bunts him over to second and continue to trail 1-0 in top 7.

Dallas closes out the seventh close to or at 100 pitches. A's up 1-0. Astros haven't stung a ball all day.

Gattis lines one by Simien that is ruled a single with an error on the centerfielder in the gap that allowed Gattis to take second.

Worth and Marisnick fail to plate Gattis. The Astros continue to fail to get a key hit with RISP to not it up. Heading to top 8.

I'm not liking him bunting.  But it is what it is.

Neshek relieves Keuchel who had a fine outing but departs on the hook for the L.

I'm not liking him bunting.  But it is what it is.

We need a stat head to form us if a designated hitter batting in the 3rd slot has ever had two sac bunts in the same game. Certainly, there has never been one if the parameter "while hitting over .340" to the matrix.

Top of the order coming up for the Astros in the 8th. Fingers crossed Altuve will take a full swing.

We're back to April: watch strikes, swing at balls.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed

Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

We're back to April: watch strikes, swing at balls.

Altuve watched a meatball go by to strike out looking to end the 8th.

Gregerson sharp again in the 8th because it wasn't the 9th.

Last shot for the good guys to score a run.

We are very close to this being a disappointing longest home stand of the season. Bad time for a team slump.

Gomez reaches on an infield single to deep short. Astros still have only had one solid hit today and look pretty helpless at the plate.

Valbuena gets slightly under one and flies out to right field. Gomez tags and takes 3rd. Gattis up with two down.

With Gattis doubling into scoring position, Reed wasn't my first or second choice given that an extra base bit wasn't required to win the game.

Springer misses dropping in a flare down the RF line by a foot foul. Marisnick might have had a chance to score since he was running on the pitch. Springer Ks a few pitches later. Jakes steals second.
