Good to see him playing like he belongs. Line drives are better than occasional power.

What are the injury replacement rules? If somebody (cough, cough) gets hurt in the middle of a series, can they be replaced by somebody who has continued to work out? Or do you just have to tough out the remainder of the series with the rest of the 25-man roster you started with?

An injured player can be replaced but he can't play in that round or in the next round if the team advances.

Teams submit a 25-man roster prior to each round of the postseason comprised of postseason-eligible players. A club may request permission from the Commissioner's Office to replace a player who is injured during the course of a series, but that player is then ineligible for the rest of that round and the subsequent round, if there is one. A pitcher may be replaced only by another pitcher, and a position player only by another position player.
Teams carry extra players throughout the postseason in the event of injuries, and those players, as well as players on the injured list, can be in the dugout during games, within reason.

No question that Reddick beats Tucker, but I don't think he is likely to be replaced on a playoff roster by Toro either. If Carlos is healthy, Toro probably doesn't make the playoff roster. I also assume Straw is in.

I don't know what it is, all I know is that some of the bench players are trying to make the decisions difficult, same in the bullpen, and it's a good thing.
eta: and they've made tough decisions before re: Fiers, McHugh, Rondon...but not so much on the position player side of things

Tucker looks so much more comfortable this time around, and his success obviously has relaxed him. Dugout shots show him interacting with other players, unlike the reclusive, sulking played described in RR. He looks like he belongs this time.

At this moment, i’d Say Straw and Tucker.

I'd imagine the makeup of the SP we're facing in a particular round would come into play to a certain extent, too. Having a LH power bat (Tucker) vs. a switch hitting contact bat (Toro) could play better against some teams more than others.

Toro is a far better LH hitter. I think Straw is in regardless of matchups.

At this moment, i’d Say Straw and Tucker.
Exactly where I’m it. They have a ton of defensive flexibility with Bregs, and Diaz. If Correa is out I’d more strongly consider Toro.

Toro's big plus is infield defense; he's a reasonable lefty hitter and less than that as a righty. If he makes the roster it likely would be a glimpse into what they think of Correa's health.
Whatever route they go, there is some nice speed available off the bench. And AJ would have viable PH options from either side with Diax and Toro/Tucker.

Gist--tucker is quiet. Perceived as aloof and lacking effort. Heart to heart with Hinch results in Tucker acting with greater sense of urgency, such as greater aggression on basepath, for example.

Tucker scared the shit out of me yesterday. Heading out to take the field for the 1st inning, he does his baby giraffe act and tries to hop over the foul line, misjudges his hop, and lands right on the line. Seriously? This is important; get that shit right.
