MLB blackballs Mark Cuban

Owner of the Cubs, Sam Zell wants to sell the team to Cuban, he thought he could have a quick billion dollar deal sewn up by the end of the year,  however,

''There's no way Bud and the owners are going to let that happen,'' a Major League Baseball source said this week. ''Zero chance.''

So does Bud dislike Cuban's antics or is he afraid of the kind of team Cuban will put on the field?

I am grateful for any effort, no matter how extreme, to minimize the effect of Mark Cuban upon this earth.  That especially applies to the fucking Cubs.

Thank you.

MLB is right to protect itself. While some may argue the methods, they have done an incredible job growing the brand into the multi-billion dollar entity that it is today and protecting and making exclusive the good-old-boy network has been a big part of that. This flies in the face of the american delusion that massive cash can buy you access to anything, ANYTHING, but that concept is a farce anyways.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

My guess is that Cuban has a proven track record of doing what he wants with his team even if the league may not agree with his choices.  So just using one example, he would never feel obligated to stay within slot money for draft pick signing.

Selig wants everyone to follow a common line.... probably most of the MLB owners want this too.  Cuban would never do this.  He would always do what he thought helped his team the most without caring what the other owners thought.

Another example - Cuban probably wouldn't have agreed to playing those games in Milwaukee immediately following the hurricane. Can't have owners that stand up for their teams and fans at the expense of Bud's master plan.

A lot of current owners would have told Selig to pack sand.

I'm no particular fan of Cuban, but I do think it's funny that the same people who rail against drayton for his nonsense dislike Cuban for taking the opposite approach.

That's the context I'm missing, I suppose. I'm familiar with him speaking out on what he perceived were bad calls and shooting his mouth off about the problems with the league, but I was under the impression that he was generally right about his complaints and in some cases the old guard was at fault for letting the problems persist by keeping their mouth shut.

Dirk pretty much said one time he needs to shut up.  The team takes on the personality of the owner, especially whiney ones like him.

How about running out on the floor during altercations during games? You okay with owners doing that?

Cuban brings alot of stupid energy and would turn the Cubs into the Yankees, but above and beyond all of that, he and Selig would be throwing rubber duckies at each other before the bath water got cold.
