I wonder which teammate/coach/front office person he will throw under the bus first.
Crazy Joe McCluskey was fucking nuts.  It's why they called him Crazy Joe.

While I agree with Wagner's criticism on lack of hustle, when did "unvarnished opinions" = talking out of you ass?

Like an apple telling an orange your too tangy.  Wagner needs to stop worrying about the hitters.  I can see him giving advice to pitchers, but when is the last time he ran one out to first?

Since October 7, 1996.  Which is, entirely coincidentally, also the launch date of the Fox News Channel.

Vets should take the lead regardless of postion.  I'm sure Baggy made ptchers aware any lack of hustle issues.

I'd bet you'd be hard pressed to find me a single example.

I can't.  Doesn't mean it never happened.  It was usually just a look.

So your argument is null and void.  Especially given pitchers don't usually sprint out an easy grounder.

It's not an argument, just a comment. Pitchers sprint to cover first.

And if Wags was complaining about guys not covering the bags fast enough or being out of position playing D, that would make sense.

But Wags was clearly talking about guys hustling on offense, of which he does not participate.  Sure it could help the team, but it's coming from the wrong mouth.  No chance for Wagner to lead by example here.

I just came here to say fuck the Mets.

Billy Wagner can go hammer 10 more pounds of sand up his squeaky vagina for all I care.

That makes for one hell of a nasty visual. In the same locker room mural, I see Albert Pujols in the background, tugging on the Tanked Commander's mini-mullet, grunting while going to work, clenching his biceps while side-staring at himself in the mirror, smirking. Uuuuuhhhhhhh.

God help me, I couldn't stop myself from posting that.  Really, I tried.

You do realize there are other news channels (or channels, in general), don't you?

Absolutely.  And many/most of 'em engage in the same shit that Fox do.  It's just that Fox do it so effortlessly, that they are the poster-station.  CNN run a close second, mostly due to the bizarre decision to keep giving air time to Nancy Grace and Glen Beck, and Wolf - the woolly windbag - Blitzer.

Same reason that Fox and all the others do it.  Ratings.

And don't forget Lou Dobbs. He used to be a run of the mill economics reporter before some Mexican must have done something horrible to him.

...which is the other side of the equation.  How/why does anyone watch Nancy Grace?  Her show is just endless, uninformed blathering about shit that has happened.  She should've been fired after spending months going on about the Duke La Cross scandal, being pretty much 100% wrong, and then calling in sick (literally) the day after the jig was up.  Pathetic.  Blitzer's never asked a follow-up question in his life (which makes him perfect for a Sunday morning show), and Beck is just one of the dumbest fucks I've ever had the misfortune of hearing speak.

Anyone who watches OReily, Olberman, et al with any sort of regularity suffers from mental problems.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

It's pretty much 90% entertainment trying to disguise itself as news. Political radio is even worse.

While the news is America's Funniest Home Videos disguising itself serious journalism.
