85% capacity Probably 75%
For whatever reason, the Astros simply can't throw strikes to Choi.
Altuve hit the fuck out of that ball, which was eye chin high at least.
Bregman stops on the way to the dugout to tip Correa off on something about Glasnow.
Bregman stops on the way to the dugout to tip Correa off on something about Glasnow.Attababy Yuli!
Seems like the plan is to be a base runner not a slugger.
Good pickup.
Didn't help Correa...he was lost
Welp...4-1
Man, come the fuck on Cole.God damnit.
Spotted 4 runs...
And gives up a homer to his high school Geometry teacher.
I will not bitch about the broadcast...I will not bitch about the broadcast...I will not bitch about the broadcast...I will not bitch about the broadcast...I will not bitch about the broadcast...
T3:Adames chops out 5-3 on a nice play by Bregman charging inMeadows flies out F9Pham flies out F94-1 Astros
Need some low pitch innings.and more runs
Man I'm fucking sick and tired of Ji-Man Choi.
He's a talented fat man.
That can do the splits!
I thought Correa got that.
I'm getting a little queasy about how the Astros bats just suddenly died.
The need to get rekindled.
Bad swings, bad at bats, no life. Their letting the Rays hang around when they need to punch them in the throat.
The only good news is they're putting together long at bats. But I doubt Snell sticks around much longer.
Nothing like strike zone consistency.
And at bat consistency. Taking and swinging through so many hittable pitches.
next! How many pitchers do the Rays have?
Sparks says Cash's plan is to build a bridge to Morton for 7-8-9
That doesn't seem smart. It worked for the Astros, but against?
Last game the Astros were down 4-1 and it felt like 40-1. Tonight they're up 4-1 and it feels like they're down 4-1
Correa is flashing leather tonight.
Choi just will not chase.
https://twitter.com/ESPNStatsInfo/status/1182455100507381760@ESPNStatsInfo: In the 3rd inning, Gerrit Cole didn't record a strikeout. Why is that significant?Cole had recorded at least 1 strikeout in 73 consecutive innings (reg. and postseason) dating back to Aug. 1.It was the longest such streak in the Expansion Era (since 1961)....by 33 innings.Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
Alvarez is having a tough patch. Hope he snaps out soon.
There's an enormous hole in his swing...basically anything above the thighs.
Kevin Roberts is gonna regret this.
Can a bitch get a donut?
I'm guessing that's it for Cole?
Betting he’ll come out for the 8th.
An insurance run or two would be nice.
I wonder if pinch hitting for Machete means Cole is done?
No one is up
Are you at the game mate?
We like to chase high pitches. These pitching changes are ridiculous.
Yeah. Place has filled up since first pitch. Probably 95% now
Wherethefuck was the third pitch? Called strike Jesus
How did Springer miss that?
He closed his eyes when he swung?
I do not like pinch hitting for Maldonado
He broke out the Gomez impression on strike 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What a stud Gerrit Cole is.
Cole! Does he go to the 9th?Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
I don't think so. He's at 107 pitches. Maybe....what the fuck do I know.
I'm guessing osuna, but I won't be shocked if Cole comes back out. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
I think it will be Harris but maybe Osuna. The extra run is nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Altuve!
I love the shot of Hinch and Cole strategizing.
Tucker K'd but Hinch going lefty forced Cash to burn his lefty early . Brantley made him pay.
I thought the same thing. He's got one left, but not a good one.
That was something. I wish I knew what was said.
Hinch: “We want you to stay.”
Which relates back to the managerial discussion in the TZ. Is anyone better than Hinch?
Well, he's not Dave Roberts, that's for sure. Cash has to manage this way. That's the way his team is built, and getting behind early meant he had to pull out all the stops at every stop. It caught up with him.
What's going on with the umps?Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
Reviewing if Alvarez missed 2nd coming back from 2nd on that fly ball.
Cole is going to be the highest paid pitcher ever and it won't be close.
We’ll see.
(Booth losing it's mind that they didn't call him out)(Broadcast shows one replay from 100 miles away, then never another even still image of it)
I don't believe it. Astros or not.
This crew will be insufferable in the Htn-NY series, assuming this result holds
Someone else will if he demands six years. Astros won’t go for that long.
Watching on cable... FS1 is fineOsuna to close it out.
That was strike 3 dammit. Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
and Fat boy Choi up
Outstanding game all around.. Now time to go get Cole his WS ring.
Relax
Whoa there big shoots, I'm gonna need you to bring it down around 70, 80 percent there.
Bite me.
Anyone having a goddamn awful time with fubo.tv? The UI says the game is over and if I reach the "end" of the stream, it stops.
The Tampa Bay Rays, Dude. Worthy fucking adversary.
Yeah, yeah.. the yankmees are up.. they are a tough team.. I still like this team.
How did you wait this long? So much restraint. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
They are the master of using unorthodox methods to compete, that’s for sure. Props to them.
I'd have sent Cole back out there to finish his gem. He's the best arm on the team.
Cole is ridiculous. Why you guys listen to the tv broadcast is totally beyond me. Just irresponsible decision making.
Total silence at my house...except when I talked to myself or to my dog.
I was saying as the game started, they have a dozen eggs in their basket, we have one. If Cole shits the bed, it’s a hard climb back. Cole was the nuts, and all the funk in the Rays couldn’t beat that.
So ARod and Papi show the first inning clips, tipped pitches
Post-game didn’t get any better. A-Rod thinks the Astros knew what Glasnow was throwing.
I listened to the radio broadcast while watching a much delayed TV broadcast. Our kitchen shelves are organized as fuck. My sleeveless Correa jersey is now 2-2, both in elimination game 6-1 victories.
If I’m Crane and company, I figure out a way to make it work in the Astros’ budget to sign Cole this offseason. Do whatever it takes. I don’t want him pitching in another uniform next season.
It's a concerted effort to do what it takes. After all, I drank Lone Star and Optimator on Tuesday.
So that’s like a.500 batting average then (2.000 slugging).
Papi to Springer: “Glasnow was tipping his pitches, right?”Springer: “Man, I’m too stupid for stuff like that. It’s hard enough just to see the white thing and swing at it.”Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I turned to the radio feed in game 1 and never looked bad.
Point of order. WS Game 7 was 5-1.
Glasnow said in the postgame that once he reviewed the video it was obvious that he was tipping. He wouldn't share the details. Also, apparently Cintron is the tipping savant.
Judging just from the camera cut of him yelling at Maldonado in the 7th or 8th, I'd say that is a fair statement.
He must have stopped after the first inning.
The narrative is out there, and there's no stopping it. Just like with Kimbrel last year. People act like it's batting practice if a guy tips.
Re tipped pitches: supposedly Glasnow was getting thousands of texts that he was dropping his hands when throwing the curve. Fox showed the Astros hitters talking to each other as they cane to the plate. Twitter showed Glasnow taking his grip with his arm by his side. Bottom line(s): the Astros weren’t cheating and, as pointed out by the Rays’ coach, they still have to hit it even if they know what’s coming.
Did Cintron discover the tell from video, prior to the game? Or did he catch it in the lead off Springer at bat?
Gerrit Cole is 18-0 in those five freaking months. Yeah, 18 and 0! If you’re thinking that seems like a lot of games to win in a row, let’s just say you’re on the right track. According to STATS LLC, to find the last pitcher who won that many games in a row within a single season, you would have to go back 107 years – to 1912, when Rube Marquard spun off 19 in a row for John McGraw’s New York Giants. We’d cue up the Rube Marquard videotape now, except that was like six decades before the invention of videotape.
Joe Smith to Sparks: ‘You’re having more fun than half the room.’
Sparks screaming at Harris "you're skanky" and "your wife loves money" as Harris cheerily replied "she loves winning and being a party of this thing." Somehow I was not aware that Brandon Crawford is Garrett Cole's brother in law.
