Not sure. But he uncorked a wild pitch just prior to that one that allowed run number 4 for the Blue Jays. So he was wild, but the play itself did seem to distract him. Some idiots tweeted they thought he was trying to hit Gurriel.

He's in [early/mid/late/post]season form.

Moreland's AB was very good. Then Giles decided to pay no attention to the runners on 1/2, it was a double steal. then IBB to load the bases. The game winning hit was a big chop over the drawn in 2B.
Giles put himself in that situation, though.

This might be common knowledge, but Giles's blown save last night ended the longest current streak of successful saves in MLB. Kenny had been 34/34 going back to Sep. 2017.

Amazing how much less pressure there is to gag on when you're pitching for a team that has zero hope of making the playoffs.

Giles was actually 12/12 when the Astros traded him. In addition to the well-documented struggles with the organization, there were two problems with his pitching:
1) The Astros were almost certain to lose any tied game that he entered. He was a complete dumpster fire in those situations.
2) Even when he recorded the save, he often needed so many pitches he was unavailable the next day.

Giles could find a way to throw 6 pitches and just have the count at 1-1.

Save situations: 27 games, 26 saves, 0.35 ERA, 0.662 WHIP, 93 batters faced (3.6 batters per inning)
Non-save situations: 28 games, 0-3, 9.12 ERA, 1.784(!) WHIP, 119 batters faced (4.8 batters per inning)
And that was after he started pitching better in Toronto.

3) He elevated my blood pressure to dangerous levels. I assume he did the same for Hinch and Luhnow.
