Gardner must be hitting .800 against us.

Gardner must be hitting .800 against us.

Only .522. So there's an almost 50/50 shot at getting him out.

Seriously though...time to hang a collar on that guy.

Pregame show is talking about the game earlier in the year where Jake made the great play to cut down the run at the plate and last night.  Reminding us that twice this year against the Astros the Yankees have made the last out of the game on a single, having the tying run thrown out trying to advance.

T1:

Gardner lines out to RF on the first pitch
Judge...takes strike one or ball one...takes strike two for ball two...takes strike three for ball three...takes strikes four for strike one...fouls off strike five...lines to RF...right at Reddick, but it was hit so hard it spun him around...double...extremely lucky that ball didn't hurt someone in the stands
Sanchez...full count...walks
Gregorius...0-2...strikes out swinging
Ellsbury...foul tips strike three, but umpire misses it...full count...strikes out swinging anyway

No score

Sometimes the thought creeps into my mind that perhaps Correa enjoys playing against the Yankees too much.

I'm confused by this strike zone.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed

B2:

Beltran doubles to LCF on the first pitch
Marwin...0-2... homers to LF, Beltran scores
Gurriel doubles down LF line...close play at 2B, but a nice swim move gets him in there
Aoki pops out F4 on the first pitch...woulda been nice to move the runner to 3B...
Springer...3-1...full count...battling...strikes out swinging falling to his knees
Reddick...takes strike one 3 feet off the plate...typical considering he has the widest strike zone in the history of baseball...doubles down RF line, Gurriel scores
Altuve grounds out 6-3

But the Astros put up a crooked number...lead 3-0 after two

Maybe.  He only threw 22 pitches.  I'd have been ok letting him throw 30-ish, if he was up for it.

His tank appeared to be full and the engine was revving, but I think AJ is trying to limit his usage with a 6 run lead and hope the other guys don't step on their wangs.

.522 is bad enough!

I would have taken over... and it explains why I really hate Gardner, it is not just extreme peladophobia.  I woke up in time to see the last three outs so now I can watch the entire game stress free.

I envy you for lots of reasons.  That may be the biggest.

Any time I feel like I need to see a random, hot latina I just peer out the window for a couple of ticks.

I tend to spend a lot of time looking out the window.

And I certainly get to sleep later than you do. Hell, some days my son doesn't wander in and start poking me in the ribs until seven.

My offspring commented how much fun it was to see an Astros whoopass victory live and in person for the first time in a long time. That was fun.

Thanks yet again for all of you and the pbp! I was working out in the boonies of WV and this site was the only thing I could get to load every 10 minutes or so whenever the WV bbgs saw fit to give me one bar of 3G coverage.

What a great win and great series win!

When is rafting season over, and what are the best/better rivers?  I've been lots of places but never there.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Disclosure: I don't raft... but I do hear things... If you make it here start with the New River unless you're looking for adventure. Then I'd suggest the Gauley river. If you're REALLY looking for a good time check out the Gauley river in the fall. They let some dam loose and that thing goes nuts. Way too much for me.

Yeah, I'm sure we're all excited to bring him in in another bases-loaded situation now.

Hoyt was very good earlier in the season. This overuse may be hurting him.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I think you're right. I felt pretty confident in him earlier this year, but lately he's been hard to watch.
