Has anyone gotten to see it?

I've been listening two it for the past couple of weeks while reading the biography, and it's every bit as freaking brilliant as its made out to be.

I have "Wait For It" nearly on a loop.

"It's Quiet Uptown", on the other hand, wrecked me to the point I can barely listen to it.

Tried to talk my son into using the last part of My Shot as his walk up music.

The writing of that stuff is so well done.  My wife is reading the bio.  The other night she said "the cabinet meeting is more interesting in the musical than in the book".

The book on the development of the show, with Miranda's annotated lyrics, is extremely well done.

For example - he discusses how inner-city school kids get tickets to the matinees for field trips, and the impact of seeing people who look like them, and sing like them, playing the Foundjng Fathers has. And he says in Cabinet Battle 1, "I'll show you where the shoe fits" makes them lose their minds.

My daughter has ordered it but Amazon is out of stock.  We look forward to reading it. Our household has become a bit obsessed with it.  One of my wife's students might have given her a bootleg filming of the show. I haven't had time to watch it all yet but what I saw is super impressive.

Maybe I've got my history a little muddled, but I don't think the Founding Fathers were drawn from the same demographics as NY's inner city kids.  Unless you're talking about the upper east side.

That's part of the show's hook.  Almost all of the roles (except King George) are played by minorities.

They're doing jobs Americans won't do.

I love it when something at first glance seems to be a bad idea and then turns out to have mass appeal. The goofier the better.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Our household has become a bit obsessed with it.

I know most of the songs now since its basically the background soundtrack at casa de das. It's funny how teenage girls can (and do) work Hamilton references into every conversation that is not already 100% about the show.

I'll be up in NYC in a few weeks for some high faluten (sp?) meeting. I asked the highly placed political hosting us if she could score tickets for us. She just laughed at me.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.
