In San Antone
« on: August 03, 2017, 07:17:43 pm »
Family vacation this summer. Decided to spend a long weekend in SA taking in some historical culture and central Texas. Heading to Lockhart on Saturday for a bbq run.

Looking for eats while we're here. I know somebody on this board has eaten at either Lulu's or Mi Tierra.

Tortilla soup and the cinnamon roll at Lulu's are great. Large portions so be hungry.

Rosario's on st. Mary's for Mexican food.

Mi Tierra is great...touristy but whatever, kid friendly

Pearl Brewery area has a jillion restaurants

Downtown?  bohannon's, paisanos ,

chris madrid for burgers

What part of town?  What do you want to eat?

You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

If you want to have some damn good food and are willing to drive into a non-tourist area I cannot recommend Pollos Asados Los NorteƱos enough.  That place is amazing.  The chicken, fajitas, and beans are fantastic!

Usually someone mentions Puffy Tacos.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

Henry's Puffy Tacos, Mi Tierra, and Chris Madrid's is a timeless trilogy.

The CIA/Pearl Brewery options are incredible.

We're staying at the Menger. Had lunch at the Riverwalk and dinner here at Mi Tierra. Holy queso flameado, Batman. In the bakery line now.
