I think that he's a goner for sure. Luhnow et al. want to wipe that stain off the windshield and chalk it up to a poor trade by a predecessor.

So long, Jose Tabata.

Wow. They brought up Marte.

So long, Jose Tabata.

Tabata is clueless. He's dogging it in AAA, not running hard for balls or running the bases hard. I read a pretty pointed criticism of him down there on Sulia either yesterday or the day before.

Marte takes the first meatball offering from Keuchel and takes it outt of the yard. Welcome to the big leagues, kid. That's got to be pretty rare: a leadoff home run on the first pitch of the ballgame for a big league debut. That's a first for me.

Everything was down and away to Alvarez. Poor kid is already scared. It's going to be another long game for our tenth loss in a row. Shitfuck. 2-24 in the last 26. That's fucking futility.

Last night in the booth Milo was trying to get Luhnow to say that Owens would be up soon. Luhnow wouldn't commit to anything other than putting him at OKC so they could get a look at him, but he did say they hoped he could help them out this year.

How long until there's absolutely zero people in the stadium?

On Facebook the Astros advertised a sale of Authentic merchandise tomorrow night. Game worn shooting star uniforms for $50, jackets for $25, bats, balls, etc. only available in the shop at the game. I don't know what time they would start, presumably when the stadium doors open.

I'd go ape in there at those prices, but I can't make it. If the crowds are going to be tiny, seems like anyone would have a better shot at catching a nice deal if they're interested.

No, no, have faith. JD just announced the change in plans from the previous 9 games... we're lulling 'em into a false sense of security, then we're gonna come back and ambush 'em! Never in the last 9 games have the Astros been down 5-0 after an inning and a half!

It is unlikely that Cedeno is great shakes, but with all the shit they have trotted from the pen to the mound throughout this last month, I never understood why he was down in AAA.  He saved them from the potentially embarrassing 9th inning meltdown loss to KC, then they rewarded him by sending him down.

And... It's gone!

Bye-bye, Burnett.

Burnett is done after the solo shot from Corporan, who's hit pretty well since returning.

They are trying to get it to a save situation for Hanrahan.

If they have the tying run up after the seventh inning, I think management counts it as a W.

Instead of cutting off alcohol sales after the 7th, they should lower beers to half price for the rest of the game. Anyone that buys a ticket to this traveling shit show deserves to get well lubed in the process.

Not a bad idea. E-mail Lucas with that one.

It is unlikely that Cedeno is great shakes, but with all the shit they have trotted from the pen to the mound throughout this last month, I never understood why he was down in AAA.  He saved them from the potentially embarrassing 9th inning meltdown loss to KC, then they rewarded him by sending him down.

i think CEDENO HAS A REAL CHANCE AT A LONG CAREER AS A MAJOR LEAGUE RELIEVER.

Is my sarc-mater supposed to react to that remark? I like Cedeno but am not willing to commit as far as you seem to be.

I do like Cedeño and I do think he can stick around in the bigs.

Oh, I absolutely agree. he proved his value to me when he came in and saved that game against the Royals. I like his stuff. I also like what I've seen lately from Abad. I think that both Abad and Cedeno have more upside than WW. What do you think?

Worst record of all time is becoming realistic.  Might get some fans to the stadium a la the Tigers in 03.

Becoming??? This has been going on since we were 22-23 (since then 12-43 and 2-25 over the last 27). What are you trying to do? Master the obvious?
