Ankiel with a 3-run jack into right makes it 3-0 shitbirds through the middle of the 1st.

Fuck. We're already down 3-0 after Ankiel's top 1st homer. And there's no one home.

Nice piece of hitting by Blum (double).  Tejada scores to tie it, Lance to 3B.

Moehler settles down in the 2nd.  Gives up a single to Molina, then gets 3 straight outs to get out of the inning.  Hope his "Oswalt inning" is behind him.

Beauty of a "bunt"by Wigginton.

First hit (HR) was about 355 ft, second hit ("bunt" single) was about 35 ft per Brownie.

Swung.  Went about 20 feet and stopped on the chalk.  Still reads 'single' in the box score...

Newhan with his head up his ass gets picked off with the snap-throw from one of the squatting Molina's...

And then Shumacker traps one that is called a 'catch' and a DP.  Horrible call...

Ok, after all of the blathering about using replay to make sure we get the call right, we get this suck. That's pathetic. He missed the catch by a foot.

77 and partly cloudy today (and no Gustav looming near).  Are you far enough inland in LA to be able to avoid most of the damage if Gustav makes it to the Louisiana coast?

Absolutely awful.  The ball bounced at least 10-12 inches in front of his glove.

Godawful. Mr. Winters really screwed up by not asking for help since he obviously didn't see it. But no, Mr. Winters has to bow up and run Cooper.

It wasn't a trap.  The ball bounced 3 feet in front of the fielder.  It's probably the worst call I've ever seen on a baseball field.

Very bad call.  Bounced about in front of his glove.  From where Winters could/should have been set up it shouldn't have been that difficult to get the call correct.

It'll have to wait at least until a couple of those calls go against NYY or BOS.

Moehler has had decent command. Actually had it in the first, just made a bad pitch to Ankiel, who didn't miss it. His out pitch has had some bite tonight. Hence the K's.
